You would use at least one (but hopefully 3 or 4) in the morning and then start stacking for the afternoon. It all depends on the park as to what the particular strategy is. But if you want to zombie stack just plan you 6 LLs wisely and make sure you get to the park on time. You would want 3 to expire close to park arrival time then grab 3 more for a little later in the evening. When you get there, tap into the 3 expired as soon as possible.
I also recommend not making your āmust do ridesā the zombie rides. Becuse if a zombie goes down, you donāt get an anytime.
Very important! I lost Slinky like this⦠twice.
My additional advice to this would be hopping to a different park in the PM (if you have park hoppers). Gives more LLMP options and for me makes the days feel longer! But thatās a personal take
Various reputable sources are reporting that Test Track will be added to LLMP Group 1 when it reopens on July 22, 2025, and Soarinā will move to Group 2. I updated a couple of spots in the lead post where this is relevant.
Iām trying to decide if I need Lightning Lane for ALL of my park days or not. We are going to be at Disney for 12 days at the end of August with 6 of those days park days. Each park day we will rope drop because weāre hardcore
I really want to enjoy the shows/non-ride things in each park, in addition to the rides. I just donāt want to be a slave to my phone (I felt like I was last year when it was Genie+, so I think with this new system Iāll feel even more so).
Should I:
- Plan on having lightning lanes on a few days where I am only focused on rides? Then have a few days where I am only doing non-rides (like shows, characters, etc).
- Plan on having lightning lanes for all 6 days, as this could make it easier to pre-select all the top priority rides at each park (even if it is only 3 rides = 3 rides x 6 days is still at minimum 18 guaranteed rides).
When I added up the cost for lightning lane for all 6 days, it was about $500. I can afford this, Iām just trying to decide if I need to do this⦠as $500 would is also the cost of doing the Animal Kingdom Trek for my daughter & I⦠choices.
If it were me Iād get for all days but use that as an excuse to not be overzealous about maximizing it each day. Itās tough to do and maybe some personalities will not be able to pull that off, but if you buy for a cheaper park each day it can be relatively affordable.
If I have LL I tend to book things even if I know deep down I canāt use them. Itās a sickness, lol.
If you rope drop Epcot 2 days you donāt really need LL for Epcot. What I missed is if you have Park Hoppers or not. Rope dropping Animal Kingdom can also make LL less valuable. Itās a must (for us) at Hollywood Studios and at least 1 day at MK. But we donāt do 2 days at MK anyway.
Yes, we have park hoppers. Iām planning on rope dropping each park at least once, so I could also rope drop Epcot for at least 2 of the 6 days - good ideaā¦
Same.
Iām looking to use gift cards for just about everything on my trip. Iāve tried once with Genie to use a gift card, but the delay of GC vs card on file cost me a slot. When youāre going to pre-book your LLMP and LLSP, is it still a ridiculous dash where every second counts and your times are always changing?
Not nearly as bad as Genie, but for the top rides, there will be some movement. IME itās a matter of minutes and hours, not seconds.
That sounds much better. I hated feeling so pressured to get that 6am (7am?)purchase in while getting in line or dashing to the rope, and not being able to use gift cards for fear of losing the slot! Also, if we buy too much in gift cards I can blame Jeff ![]()
The good thing is that you pay at the end of each transaction (dayās bookings), so your LLs will be held until you check out. So definitely do your highest priority day first.
Day one weāre prioritizing HS, so RotR and MMRR should be the first two bookings, but also looking at an advanced strat as we wonāt be rope dropping.
Thatās good to know!!!
If someone were to purchase Premier Pass for HS and Rise is down all day, do they extend any sort of refund or throw you a bone for your next visit?
Officially, no refunds. In practice, it is subject to GS discretion and how nicely you plead your case.
Iāve been to the World 5 times since it reopened after covid and have not yet bought any ride thingamawidget, like LLs. We do always have park hopper tickets and usually rope drop. We also are back resting at our resort for a few hours, early afternoon.
If we have 5 day tickets I think of our time in the World as 10 blocks of about 3 to 4 hours each. Half being early and half being late. Some parks or attractions are best done early or better done later. We might open AK but close HS.
I used to stalk the crowd calendar as well but lately I try to read enough trip reports to discern trends - like Rise being down early more often than not - and go with that info.
This should be the title of a chapter in the Official Guide.
