The Lightning Lane Thread! All WDW Info Here

So far the vote is pretty strong in favor of “MP / SP.” I’m thinking the way I’ll use it is if I want to say “Lightning Lane Multi Pass,” I will say “LLMP,” whereas in situations where “Multi Pass” alone would suffice, I will use “MP.” So in more formal contexts, particularly the lead post, I will use LLMP. But I may change some instances in the lead post to MP / SP.

But what if chat comes up with different abbreviations. :eyes: I wish they had left it as ILL (since that didn’t change and individual and single are synonyms) and changed Gennie+ to multi…

Trying to decide what to do, maybe you all can make the decision for me. We’re supposed to land in Orlando at1pm tomorrow. Heading to the Magic Kingdom tomorrow afternoon ( staying at the Polynesian). I figure that by the time we commute, check in, get the Magic bands bought and set up we’ll probably make it to the park by 3pm, then we’re also doing the full day Sunday at the Magic Kingdom. My dilemma is, do I buy Genie+ 1st thing tomorrow morning then start stacking LL’s for later in the day or just wing it tomorrow and do the Genie+ Sunday?

All I can see with LMP is limp sorry, not sorry.

A stack will work well in the scenario I believe. You should be able to get set up nicely to get a great evening in.

In the lead post -
(14) Do we want the sentence starting with “In practice…”

Tips
(1) Tiers

Should these selections only be included in the LaCava thread?

Good questions! For rule 12), this was information I included under Genie+ and I think it’s innocuous enough.

For the Tips, I will consider whether to include some of this information when we know the answers. I do want to include factual information about whether you are required to pre book all three LLs, and similar information like that. For now it’s just questions so not sure there is much harm including it. I won’t generally include true “hacks” that could possibly be disallowed by Disney.

This looks like Military Police and Shore Patrol.

Which were referred to as EmPees and EssPees

I thought of this as well.

Updated this based on Scott Gustin’s report that Canadians will be able to prebook before arriving in the US.

Or maybe put the shortened version in parenthesis or an A.K.A. just so there is no confusion.

Hopefully people will go promote this on chat then!

Here’s an example of usage of both the longer and short form together:

“If you want to prebook LLs in advance, you will need to either purchase a LLMP or LLSP. With an MP you can make three selections in advance from a pool consisting of most rides in each park. An SP is used for only the most popular rides — currently GotG, Tron, FoP, RotR, and 7DMT.”

From context, by the time I get to “MP” and “SP” it is clear I’m talking about LLs. But out of the blue it might be helpful to readers to use “LLMP” in the first instance.

(I should submit this entry to the Chicago style guide.)

I figure I’m going to avoid all the alpha-confusion by declining to use any of it.

We never did everything on any trip anyway, hence our catch phrase: we’ll catch that one next trip! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

LLMP - This sounds like no more multi-park purchases. You can only buy one park. Am I right?
With LLMP you get free photo pass, is that just for the rides you use LLMP for or all rides you ride when you have an LLMP? Does it include anything other than the rides?
If I can purchase my LLSP seven days in advance of my reservation, for me that means I can reserve my GOTG for ten days (I have a 10 day pass but will be there for 14 days, Aug 4-18 this year). Apparently, this is my life goal now. To ride GOTG twice a day for every park day. I hate having to plan which days I’ll be going to the park ahead of time. If I do this I HAVE to go to the park those 10 days or I forfeit the cost of the LLSP for any day I don’t go. Right?
If I don’t do the LLSP ahead of time, what do you think the chances are that GOTG will sell out of LLSP on any given day?
VQ is still they same as before, so I can still grab one at 7am. Right?

Correct. But after you use one of your prebooked 3 you can book in any park you are eligible to hop to.

All ride photos. Other Photopass opportunities require purchase of Memory Maker.

Yes, an LLSP is non-refundable, unless you go to GS and beg (politely). No guarantee if you just decided you didn’t want to go to the park.

It probably won’t sell out until later in the day if current patterns hold.

Correct. No change to VQ process.
