Yesterday when my husband and I were booking for our 9 day stay, we had the problem that with all the credit card charges, we had one, then two, Chase credit cards frozen for possible fraudulent activity. I don’t blame the credit card companies - we had $100 and $200 charges every couple minutes, so it would look like fraudulent activity from the credit card’s perspective.
People with longer stays may want to have additional credit cards stored on their Disney account so that they can quickly switch the payment method if they run into the same problems that we did.
So you were being charged for every booking? Have you contacted Disney about it? What did they say? I don’t want multiple cards having wrong charges on it.
They mean they had one transaction for each day’s purchase of LLMP / LLSP. So if you have a two week trip you could have a dozen charges on your booking day. I don’t think they meant they had any inappropriate charges, just that there were a lot hitting at once so it was flagged.
This is exactly right, Jeff. It was something that I hadn’t seen mentioned before and something I hadn’t considered. I just wanted to pass that info along so other people would be aware and could plan in advance if they have a long trip and plan to purchase LLMP/LLSP for a lot of days. It added a layer of chaos to an already stressful process.
Yesterday we went to MK, starting around 915. Had space, buzz, barnstormer, Tron, and Tiana vq. Daughter decided she hates barnstormer lol so we skipped that. But once we tapped into space at 10 I assumed we would’ve been able to find more rides (thinking they release same day availability. But nope… nothing was available (some completely sold out and others with 8pm return times.
We had Epcot at the night so I just switched gears to there and that park had somewhat better luck at.
Was this a fluke at MK and they normally do have same day spots so you can ride beyond your prebooked stuff? It was so frustrating to have nothing to ride there. Or has this been others experience too?
HELP! I just booked my LLSP and LLMP for my upcoming trip next week. I entered my selections into my personalized touring plans and it looks like a few of my plans are telling me to use lightning lanes that I don’t have. ie - I had planned on getting a lightning lane for Remi’s, but wasn’t able to get a time that would work. So I removed it from my LLMP selection and optimized, but it still shows “use Lightning Lane.” Am I missing something? Has anyone else come across this issue?
First thanks for all the updates and information. It’s really good and love seeing it evolve as we get new information. I haven’t seen much talk about availability on short/midweek trips. My family has started going more frequently down to WDW for shorter trips but we almost always go down midweek. Seems like we are going to get totally hosed on the picks as everyone who is down for a week will have made their picks and depending on when you go everyone offsite will be able to start making picks. Just curious is anyone has done a midweek stay or read about someone’s experience. Thanks in advance!!
Can you share a public link from your plan? It sounds like you need to manually configure your Lightning lanes and you might have missed deleting something or switching off an option.
I’m not sure why your plan is saying to use LL for Remy – it might be a leftover step from an earlier Optimization that didn’t get overwritten when you entered your actual LLs? If you really want it gone, you may need to delete the Remy step and then add it back again.
That said, I don’t think it’s necessary. If you truly Rope Drop Remy, the time it gives as your wait could be reasonable. And even if you don’t, you have 31 minutes of free time afterward, which is the max I’ve ever waited if I arrive around Rope Drop. So I think you’re good to go with this plan.
I bet it’s a workaround the touring plans team came up with. A few of us on chat discussed with them that the software wasn’t doing well with Remy arrival at rope drop. If you enter from IG, it’s very quick. If you enter from main gate it’s a much longer wait cause you’re behind everyone at IG. We discussed how they could get the software to differentiate that. Automatically coding Remy to be a LL if you enter from IG would do that. Genius solution if that’s what they’re doing.
I’ve definitely had a couple of cases where deleted LL’s are still being applied on my touring plans lately. I haven’t tried deleting the plans and starting over, but I’ve tried making a copy and they still show up on the copy. Even at the top section when you go to print the plan, they show up in the list of LL’s (and they are definitely deleted from the section at the bottom where you input your LL’s). I just gave up and in some cases left them there, or if it was really messing things up, I removed the attraction and just entered it manually as a break instead.
I created a fake plan coming from main gate and the optimizer still wants me to get a Remy LL. The wording says optimizer suggested Remy LL. So my idea of it being a genius work around is apparently not what it’s doing. I agree with Jeff though. You’ve still got a good plan.
(edited to add the word not - it was a very important edit - LOL)
I know Disney gift cards can not be stored in the Disney app. But can they be used if entered manually? I’ve heard to put the number in your notes then just copy and paste it at checkout.
Can a prepaid Visa card be stored on the app?
Thinking about getting a visa gift card for each day I need to purchase lighting lane. Didn’t know if that is easier than a Disney gift card.
Trying to figure out how not to have my credit card frozen. I only have 3 days worth to purchase but it could still freeze my chase Disney visa .
I’ve only heard one person report this happening. I don’t think you’d have a freeze, just your CC company might reach out to you. I wouldn’t worry about it. It would take longer to use gift cards or loaded debit cards than to just use your credit card, even with potential transaction flagging, IMO.
