I was about to say that.

Here’s the only answers I can come up with:

  • What you can book will block you from getting something you really want due to the limitation on overlap.
  • You really can’t imagine yourself using the available options under any circumstances.

If you’re just looking for something better, book what is available and then modify later.

That said, it may be beneficial to book only one LLMP in your first pass when purchasing so you can lock in your highest priority (be that a 9am LL or an early Tier 1 time) and then immediately going back and filling in the gaps, just from a practical perspective.

Isn’t that the dang truth?!

Per the directions you have to use one in your first park before you can book in another

This is probably insurance against folks booking early throwaways in order to begin booking at second park earlier than your 2nd prebooked comes up without having to rope drop

This makes sense. Not that it takes a ton of extra time but if you have multiple days to book, doing the priorities first and then going back it to fill in the others it a good strategy.

You can book another when your first LL expires but it is Tier and Park restricted as if you were replacing the pre-booked LL that expired. The benefit is that you can still show up during the grace period to use the expired LL.

In practice though an expired LL is considered used in the system. So you don’t have to tap but it also doesn’t count as the first tap of the day that removes the pre-booking restrictions. So it’s not really advantageous unless you plan on using the expired LL within the grace period. Reports from CM’s are that the official grace period is now 60 minutes.

Good call - I’ll add.

You’re welcome! It was nothing.

Jeff said you have to cancel the expired?

Only to rebook the same attraction. If you aren’t going to use the expired LL in the grace period you can cancel it and rebook the same attraction for later. We aren’t sure what the cut off is to that. And I’m not sure if that is by design or a loop hole that will be closed.
And we thought this system was going to be less complicated…

It is for the basic user

We overthink things and try to work the angles

If you plan to use the LL during the grace period, or you don’t plan to use a LL for that attraction at all, you can just leave it expired.

If you want to re-book that attraction for later, you must first cancel the expired LL. The system is trying to prevent you from having two LLs for the same attraction.

OK

But didn’t you also say - and reiterate just now - that expireds/unused hold you to park and group restrictions?

Just trying to keep this all straight in my own head LOL

Not us!
But yes. I agree. For a person walking into the park the new system can be explained pretty quickly and with fewer follow up questions. No note cards and complicated spreadsheets needed.

So, if it’s the first LL of the day and it has expired then you are still beholden to the pre-booking rules for obtaining the next LL. That first tap in to an LL is what changes your rules from pre-booking to “day of”. So just letting it expire opens up a new LL opportunity but only for the same park and for the same tier as the expired one.
Once you tap in to your first LL of the day, the restrictions go away. So expiring doesn’t equal tap. The tap is what changes the rules for your future LLs. Expiring just opens up a slot.

Haha I thought that’s what we were discussing. The first LL. That’s why I was being persistent about it

:face_with_spiral_eyes:

Maybe I better stick to the basics

Sorry - let me clarify.

In order to unlock “Same-day Booking Privileges” – the ability to book any tier or any park – you must tap in to any one of your pre-booked LL reservations.

Simply letting your first LL expire does not unlock same-day booking privileges. (But it does re-open one of your pre-booked slots, while also being valid itself during the grace period. It’s like having 4 bre-books.)

But an expired LL does not prevent you from unlocking same-day priviliges by tapping into an LL.

The distinction is important for folks who aren’t yet in the parks trying to stack Tier 1s.

The way I described it to DH is you have pre-booking rules and day of rules. You don’t switch over to day of rules until you tap into your first LL. That can be at 9am or 4pm. You can always hold up to 3.

I think you mean to say until the first time you tap in

Because saying until you tap into your first still suggests to me that you mean you first prebooked one

That’s why your statement that I quoted confused me

The semantics can be confusing. I phrased it this way, which I hope is clearer?

I’ve struggled to come up with a way to convey this without being confusing.
