This was my favorite Maxpass hack and I hope it never goes away. Of course it only works when thereās bad weather or if a ride has mechanical issues for an extended period.
Friday is the āweekendā according to Disney so we now have confirmation (from Twitterās Scott Gustin) of weekend pricing for ILLs - $12 for RSR and WS and still a flat $20 for RotR as expected.
It was the same on Saturday, I donāt know about today. We also did see blatant line manipulation at RSR Friday night.
Thread of someone testing out free Genie itinerary today in DLR. He put in 5 priorities for his itinerary:
Mr Toad, Big Thunder, Jungle Cruise, Pirates and Rise. His goal today is to follow as many of the recommendations of free Genie as possible without paying for any extras (other than buying food when he is hungry but is using Genieās suggestions for where to get food as well).

So far the only one of his priorities that he has ridden is Pirates. Hilariously he has been sent to pretty much every ride near or around Mr. Toad but never Toadās which is he documenting in hilarious fashion. Genie did recommend him to go to Rise (and he listened) but the ride went down and hasnāt refreshed back onto his itinerary (Genie maybe assumed he did it??). But itās a good fun following along.
I am certain I will never use the Genie recommendations for planning ahead but may consider using them when we are having a what to do next moment because what we had planned isnāt feasible or too long of a wait. And most certainly never, ever follow Genieās recommendations for rope drop.
Touring Plans did the same thing at WDW and the suggestions are ridiculous. Sometimes it can be decent, but you have to know when to ignore it and what you really want to do.
I remember seeing TP run a bunch of comparisons on one of my lurkings on your most excellent WDW Genie thread. This is the first Iāve seen of anyone truly trying it out for longer than one itinerary refresh at DLR so I thought it would be helpful here. And it really does mean you absolutely need to know what to ignore vs. what to listen to. And put up with Genie trying to upsell you on everything it possibly can.
I watched one in WDW where he put his day in the hands of Genie+ and it kept sending him to eat or go on rides he canāt stand. It was hilarious! Here is the link. It sounds similar to the one you described:
I think if I had an AP I would do it one day just for the hilarity of it. I feel really bad for peeps who donāt know better and think it is a good use of their time there.
Can confirm it is 2 hours or when you tap in, whichever is sooner.
This is from your personal experience? Or from reading elsewhere?
I used it today and two hours is correct.
It really didnāt feel like a limitation though, since everything was almost immediately available.
Also helped that I had three convert to āSelect Experiencesā because rides temporarily went down while I held their LL. When that happens it automatically converts to a pass you can use anytime from the start of your original LL window to park close. And you can immediately book another LL. We ended up stacking more than we could use.
Well done! I hope it stays that way by the time I go in May. And thanks for the confirmation.
Are you able to use an anytime attraction pass for any ride or just the one which went down? And if so are you able to use it on rides that you have already used the lightning Lane for?
Personal experience by several liners this past weekend
You can use it on anything on the list, including ride that went down, BUT if you use it for that same ride you canāt also book it in LL again. For example, you have MH but it goes down, and it converts to anytime. You can then book MH again AND either ride MH twice, using the newly booked LL AND the anytime, or you can use the newly booked MH and then use the anytime for anything else. Like booking BTMRR and then using your anytime to ride that twice via LL
Thanks! I updated the lead post to 2 hours again.
Make sure to ALWAYS use specific ride LL first and only THEN use the anytime, especially if you are using it for the same ride.
Interesting! Thank you for sharing. I donāt like to be surprised by planning hinks at the park.
So in your above SM example, we would try to book another LL for SM and then use the anytime pass to ride letās say Star Tours even if we had already ridden Star Tours with LL? OR book another LL for SM, ride SM with the new LL reservation, then use the anytime res to ride SM AGAIN even though we already rode it?
