The Lightning Lane Thread! All DLR Info Here

The DFB article was my first inkling that there was PP at Disneyland too. While $400 is expensive, it is so much better value than any of the WDW PP (no hoppers!) that it almost makes the $400 seem reasonable. Almost. But most of my DLR trips are solo ones - everything is more reasonable when it isn’t X4. Or X6

Does anyone know whether the addition of LLPP has resulted in any changes to the patterns we’ve observed on LLMP Return Times at DLR? I’m going to the parks with LLMP on 10 31 and 11 1 and have not had a chance to watch the return times.

ThrillData said they were watching LL patterns at Disneyland after the launch of LLPP and saw nothing noteworthy. It’s a very small percentage of guests using it.

Thank you! I’ve watched drops and am not seeing them on Space Mtn. (Not sure if there is another thread I should mention this on.)

There is a Disneyland drop thread in the La Cava section of the forum. I don’t go there much - the drops at DLR are not very consistent or discrete like they are at WDW.

Virtual Queue question: Is the only regularly active VQ in Disneyland just World of Color ONE?

I think that’s right. They were using HM before the queue opened but I think that’s over. Can’t think of anything else recent.

Jeff, many thanks for maintaining this thread—I’m finding it super helpful as I prepare for my first DLR visit since 2012!

A few places in the OP where I have a question or would suggest an edit…

(1) Maybe strike “a limited number” here?:

It seems to imply that there’s a certain fixed limit on the number of reservations you can make. (Later you explain clearly how, in practice, the number is limited by time, availability, the no-repeat rule, etc.)

(2) LLMP rule 10 states:

Is that second “or” a typo? If not, I don’t understand what this sentence means.

(3) Two stray instances of ILL (instead of LLSP)—one in LLMP rule 11 and one in LLSP rule 1:

(4) Should this be “LLMP”?:

(5) Just a typo:

(6) Is this still the case?:

Thanks for reading through! I’ll bookmark to come back and make this edits when I have time.

I updated as follows:

Deleted the second “or” as I believe it was just a typo.

Removed.

LLSP is correct - both Rise and RSR have near-immediate availability throughout most of the day. I clarified the verbiage since there are only two attractions:

Also I changed the LLSP tip #1 to say the following:

No, once HM’s refurbished queue opened, they stopped using VQ at that attraction. I have updated that to say the only attraction that uses VQ currently is World of Color.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Thanks for the clarifications!

Do we have confirmation that rapid stacking (at expiration of an LL, booking a new one and modifying the old one simultaneously) is totally dead? It’s been about a year since I’ve have to plan for a DLR trip.

As far as I’m aware there hasn’t been much testing either way. Might be worth a try. Personally though, I’ve found that such tactics aren’t worth it. Instead, it’s more important to get through 3-4 of the biggest headliners in the morning and then it will be easier to get through the remaining ones when return times start to stretch out.

The last time I was at DLR, (July 2024) I was able to use rapid stacking switching between Small World and Star Tours to essentially get a new LLMP every 60 minutes. (Book SW, at expiration book ST, modify SW to keeper, etc.)

I started after my first real booking (IJ@opening), so it did mean my first usable LLMP was Space around 11:30am, but I think I got literally every LLMP in the park by the end of the day. There were almost certainly some drop time modifications to move things up as well, but we definitely took an extended nap in the middle of the day, too.

Sorry if this question has already been answered….

If you have LLMP and you tap into a park when Early Entry opens, can you book a LL right away, or do you have to wait till the regular park opening time 30 minutes later?

Some statements in this thread imply the former (book right away) but I haven’t seen it stated explicitly, so I just want to make sure.

Yes, you can book right away as soon as you tap in. Everyone can, as they let everyone in at the same time (and just hold the non-EE peeps until 8am).

You mean a non-EE guest can book an LL while waiting for park opening hour?

Yep! The times start at open, but anyone can book them during EE as long as they have scanned into the park.
