The Lightning Lane Thread! All DLR Info Here

This has almost certainly been asked and answered, but I can’t find it: What is the maximum LLMP group size at DLR?

This post says 10 guests. I’m glad you asked this because I didn’t know this and have a group larger than 10 traveling in May. I will have to split up the party with DW. :grimacing:

LLPP - the site stresses “very limited quantity”… has anyone had experience with seeing this sold out at 7 days out right around the 7 am pacific time?

Also, does anyone know/had experience with getting any $$ back if LLMP was pre-purchased with tickets and then getting LLPP?

I haven’t heard any news one way or the other about DLR selling out. However, MK has sold out at WDW occasionally, but it is usually not till a few days before, not immediately right at day +7. If you are relatively on the ball, I imagine you will be safe, even if not right at the stroke of 7am.

Rare scenario, but I imagine if you ask nicely, there’s a decent possibility they will oblige.

So I guess I hadn’t understood that it’s almost like if you buy a package with resort you are penalized - so I don’t have my travel e-package yet, so no tickets are linked, which means I can’t get LLPP yet even though I’m 7 days out? Or is there something I’m missing here? (Edited to add I see that in top post it says pre-purchase 2 days out, but I guess I was confused because on the DLR app it lets me select 7 days out, but then says “you don’t have tickets”…)

I think that’s correct, unfortunately. You can only get LLPP if you have tickets linked. I have never gotten a package so I don’t have first hand experience but there was some discussion on this and how unfair it is to people who buy a package. You could always try calling Disney or going to Guest Services if you aren’t able to get it due to it selling out.

Does DLR have the same unofficial 119 minute grace period as WDW?

No. In theory they might sometimes (Larry was allowed in late to HM last night with no issue). But in practice they can be very strict. I have even heard of people being turned away within 15 minutes.

I got yelled at for being late to an LLSP, though current times were still very much available.

I have tried to beg for mercy when we show up at minute 16-20 past the window and I’ve never yet been denied but the CMs ranged from visibly annoyed to downright angry (like Felis) at the audacity to have a reason that made us late. And I did always have small kids with me each of these times so I think that helped with the begging for mercy.

Does the golden ticket trick still work?

No, sorry!

Can someone remind me how modifying a LL affects your 2-hour window? Is it only if it’s your most recent LL you’re modifying? ie, if you have two LLs and you modify your older one, does your 2-hour window remain unchanged?

In my original instructions above I say that modifying a LL does not affect the 2-hour clock but that it can push back your eligibility if your return window was originally less than 2 hours. Is that not true?

It seems like every time I modify, it pushes back the clock. I no longer do it if I can help it.
Not sure what happens with an older one, usually it’s just the new one I want to change.

Ok I tried it this morning and modifying will not reset your 2-hour window, but it will push your eligibility time back if your return time was originally less than 2 hours away.

Example:

I booked 10am return time IJ at 7:50am. My eligibility was 9:50am (2 hours after booking). I modified IJ to 1pm and my eligibility remained 9:50am.

Perhaps I haven’t had enough coffee yet this morning, but I’m still confused by this. @Jeff_AZ , your example shows that the clock is not affected, but it seems that there are scenarios where the clock is affected. What would that look like?

Scenarios:

  • 7:50am - Book a 8:30am return time (less than 2 hours away) - eligibility is 9:30am (end of return window) or when tapping in
  • 8:30am - Modify your return time to 8:45am - eligibility is 9:45am or when tapping in
  • 8:45am - Modify your return time to 8:55am - eligibility is 9:50am - 2 hours after original booking or when tapping in
  • 8:55am - Modify your return time to 1:00pm - eligibility remains 9:50am - 2 hours after original booking

Hope that helps.

In other words, your 2-hour window is always set by your original booking and does not change. But if your eligibility is less than 2 hours away, modification could push your eligibility back, but no more than the original 2-hour window.

I have bought the subscription for TP to help with my upcoming DL and CA trip. When I create a customized plan, it doesn’t have me stack LLs at all and this advice here in this thread isn’t followed. For example, even though I rope drop and it has me on my first ride at 08:02, it doesn’t have me booking a LL until 10 or later depending on what I put into the tool. It usually has me getting and using 2 LLs all day and not more.

Can anyone help? I want to use as many LLs as possible and stack them by modifying to use them later in the day when the parks are full. How can I get the software to use more?
