I like it when Disney adds these kinds of things to Genie+. More availability for us on the things that matter.
Trying to decide if we will need G+ at all for our April trip. Will buy ILL for ROTR x1; extra rides would be standby. Hopping, and doing a 4P1D day. Here is the breakdown:
Day 1: MK mid-am to afternoon/ EP evening
Day 2: AK from RD to lunch/ HS evening
Day 3: travelerâs choice til mid-afternoon, late lunch/early dinner at Raglan Road (I realize no entertainment), golf early evening, EP later evening with extended evening hrs (whatâs our shorthand for that again??)
Day 4: HS lunchtime arrival and stay though evening. Here is where we have most of our SWGE stuff including Ogas and Saviâs. No planned hop this day
Day 5: 4P1D - MK, AK, HS, EP and return to MK for extended evening hours
Day 6: Transfer day. AK late afternoon and evening.
Day 7: HS RD to lunch, AK afternoon/evening
Day 8: EP RD (after A&C breaky, so via IG); MK finale
Day 9: DS
Iâm feeling like with the way our plans are laid out I wonât need it at all. I have some rope drops and evenings at each park, extended evenings at EP and MK, and a lot of hours allotted otherwise to AK and HS.
What say you wise people of Forum?
Yes. Any day with MK is probably worth it.
Yes. The hop to HS makes this worth it. Try stacking in the morning.
Probably not. Epcot usually isnât worth it, especially if youâre going for EEMH (or whatever ).
Maybe. Probably good day to have it unless you think youâll get through everything the first day and are ok waiting standby the second day.
Maybe. Probably makes sense to have it this day, but will take extra care to make sure the selections are for the right park at the right time.
Probably not. This is one of the less needed days, though wouldnât hurt.
Yes. This would be a good day to have it. Stack for MK.
In summary, âYesâ = 3, âMaybeâ = 2, âProbably notâ = 2. If you get it for all days, you will probably skip an hourâs worth of line each day of the âprobably nots.â So if that is worth it to you, go for it. But if you want to save the money, the above is my recommendation.
Thanks, Jeff.
3 would be the absolute max number of days I would do it (I was aiming for a max of 2 but could stretch it if it makes sense).
If I were to drop one day, it would be Day 1. Having MK in the afternoon/evening will be better for stacking. You want to have Genie+ for at least one MK day and one HS day.
Iâll do that then - I was thinking that early in the trip our tolerance for waiting will be higher so it wouldnât be as important, and with the evening hop being to EP I donât know that weâll get enough value from it to make it worthwhile
I appreciate your insight! I donât know why this stupid thing is so hard for me to conceptualize.
We made good use of Genie+ on our 4P1D in January. But I think it might depend on what your goals are for that day.
Each park will include 1 ride, 1 show, and 1 snack. Thatâs all! Which is why I kind of feel like itâs not necessary that day.
If your sticking to 2, my vote would be G+ for 1st HS evening day (to stack) and MK finale day (to stack). If you wanted to add a 3rd, HS/AK day would be nice (first LL at HS early and stack AKs for the evening after that).
I agree that makes sense not to get that day. We did have the same goals but some members of the party are overachievers and wanted to exceed the goals.
Ok so if I have a park res for AK (opening at 7:30) but use my 7 AM LL for a post-hop attraction at EPCOT, can I get my next LL 120 minutes after AK opens or 120 minutes after EPCOT opens?
Oh I want to know that answer too.
I am pretty sure itâs 120 minutes after the park where you have a reservation opens, so in this case, 9:30 AM. @Jeff_AZ - does this sound right?
I donât think so, I think itâs 2 hours after the park where you make your first LL opens. On chat they have been recommending getting an early one at AK so you can then start stacking earlier for the park youâre hopping to.
Yeah I saw that.
Honestly I thought your Park Opening time was based on your Park Res.
But the chatters seems to think itâs based on your PPO / 7 AM LL.
ETA: This is another instance where my reaction is âholy rabies, itâs D-49, I should know this!!!â
Iâve seen it mentioned here as well but Iâd never find it.
Youâre right, I just found it, itâs actually in the OP.
It never occurred to me to look there
Thanks! That is correct - the â2 hours after park openingâ is based off the park where you make your first LL reservation.
Thank you
