The show was AWESOME. It was in it’s usual as-you-hear-it on Schmerzday format, but the listener questions came from the audience Someone seated beside me even asked one! The main segment was Why We Can’t Have Nice Things and it was quite entertaining. Absolutely have a listen when the show is released next week!
After the show recording was done, there was time for more Q&A with Len and Jim, and a little bit of input from time to time from former Disney Imagineer Jim Shull. Though I wasn’t as close to him as I was when #WeMetBobGurr@Enchantedbythemouse I’m calling this another Disney Imagineer capture and adding it to my count (which is currently at 2).
Following the Q&A there was a character meet and greet, with a posted 20 minute wait Len and Jim graciously had photos and conversation with as many people as wanted to interact with them. We saved ourselves for last
The Wildest Rye In the Wilderness was courtesy of @melcort10 who researched what you can make with that Wilderness Rye (she bought for the occasion!) and turns out (did you know this??) that Mountain Dew was originally made specifically for mixing with whiskey?? I don’t care for Mountain Dew at all and Rye can be a little much depending on the day. But this combination? AMAZING. Really and truly. Smooth, dangerous combination IMO We shared with @len after the show
Post show drinks pictured were the Rai-Tai and two Work From Foams Really really good drinks!
I agonized over making something “wild” and then ran out of time and went with more of a mountain homage and I’m so happy with how it came out!
This was so fun and we got such a good parking spot so thanks for a great night!!
If any parents need to convince their kids to get their grades up to get into MIT they are having a “theme park play” workshop today! Which is why everyone is in town. I want to go back in time and major in theme parks!
I chickened out on trying it because I have a strong dislike of two of the three ingredients (the third ingredient being ice…I like ice) but it got rave reviews!!
I realized later that this joke may not land with everyone. There is a commercial series here (for what product???) that plays like a skit and opens with someone singing “The Bostonians” so I was making a play off that while also playing off the idea of you all being The Nashvillians
Thank you to @melcort10, @OBNurseNH and @StinsyLinson for staying to serve drinks after the show. I feel like … you all know me so well. And the Wildest Rye in the Wilderness is an EXCELLENT DRINK.
Where was the place you went after for dinner? I REALLY wanted pizza on Friday but was too lazy to look up places or be disappointed.
It was right next door to Catalyst, which was closed by the time we arrived. The pizza place was Area Four. A quirky little place, and those always have the best most inventive pizzas which held true there.
