The Disney Dish Thread

I would be interested in a “they-pick” deluxe resort deal as long as the options are the deluxe resorts and not DVC. I would not want to take a chance of getting one bed and a sofabed rather than two queens.

What if it was a queen and a queen murphy bed?

I’d LOVE that. The Murphy Beds are wicked comfortable and having them stowed to have a living space during the day makes for a real nice room experience

That would be ok, but until all of the sofa beds are switched over to Murphy-style I wouldn’t take the chance. I think there are still some resorts that haven’t been updated?

There are yet a few

Value rooms can easily exceed the $289 price point at times. But I’m guess this would be a floating price point based on seasonal pricing. I would love for Disney to introduce a program like this.

You can add Patreon feeds to Overcast as well (and probably nearly every podcast app).

Overcast is so much better than Apple Podcasts! I switched several years ago, finally got DH to do it recently (after years of listening to him complain about the Apple Podcast app) and he loves it

I’m jumping back to SC marketing as I’m months behind on here. We had it booked as soon as bookings opened- we had a 2 week trip rebooked multiple times from 2020 thru to finally go in aug 2023 - so the budget expanded by 2 years worth.

Add in that we were then in the summer my DS then 18 finished school with top grades and was off to medical school when we went home- & he & his brother are Star Wars obsessed. Like hours spent on Fallen Order planning the perfect light saber build over 3 years obsessed.

So DH saw the starcruiser and said go for it. Then we started to hear about the Larping- not so sure about paying out 6k for dressing up. I’d have happily cancelled & had an extra ski week.

But then @Len and Chrissy went on & came back & described the experience just as we were at the point of losing money if we cancelled any later. So that was it- he loved it so we were going. And we were going to find the path to the yoda holocron.

So Disney needed to employ @len to market the cruiser I think.
Maybe @brooketaylor too as her early videos of her son with lt croy were also fantastic.

Lots of interesting discussion on the episode today. I laughed when Jim brought up how for 101 Dalmatians, Disney was trying out Xerography for the first time. Then Len immediately says, “You mentioned this, but I don’t think we’ve talked about it before that 101 Dalmatians was the first use of Xeroxing in an animated film.”

Jim:

Jim: Anyway …

I’m not sure how it came out on the show (which I will listen to now), but it was a blast recording that show. Like I said while recording, we were working 2 hours later than normal, and it was a completely different vibe.

I haven’t finished this week’s show yet but I would drink the hell out of the Wildest Rye in the Wilderness!

I CAME UP WITH THAT ON THE FLY! I should’ve described it as a Manhattan but for the parks. Darn.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I just realized I prefer rye in my whiskey cocktails, and have been doing extensive research on rye. So when I heard this I was like: “I want it!!”

I live in the DC area and my current favorite is one from a Virginia based distillery called “Filibuster Rye”. Apparently I like my rye to be themed.

It was perfection.

And I prefer Old Fashioneds which somehow fits the theme better :cowboy_hat_face:

Have you seen what goes on at MIT??? Alcohol would be pretty far down the list of concerns.

Last night I was up waaaaaaaaaaaay past my bedtime for a school night.

But for a very good reason.

Even better, I wasn’t alone!

And still better, we had the Wildest Rye In the Wilderness to sip while taking in the “show”.

After the show we got to meet the man, the myth, the legend

And then as with all good Liner Meets, we finished the night with good food and - more importantly - great drinks nearby!

It was a fantastic night and I’m so happy I got to enjoy it with @melcort10 and @StinsyLinson !!!
