This happened to me. The time changed slightly, and I ended up cancelling and rebooking at a lower rate. It’s so annoying when they won’t let you modify at the cheaper rate, even if the time changed. I hate being locked into it.
My SDF to MCO flight decreased again this Sunday morning by 2548 point (From $161 to $128). Online it only showed 1 flight left at that price. DS14 and I are booked together. DH booked separately. I changed DH flight online and got the points back. Online still showed 1 flight left at that lower price. I called called Southwest to ask for a decrease in points and did not mention the 1 flight left showing online. The Southwest agent refunded the points for both DS and I. That phone call got me back 5096 points! Only took 8 minutes. So a total of 7644 points back this morning.
Keep checking those flights…obsessively. When I first booked this flight the day it was released in March it was 14,113 points. Today it’s down to 8731 points. In dollars that $207 down to $128. I’m 81 days from the flight.
Hi fellow SDFer! That’s almost a whole other flight you got back in points! The lowest I got for our June trip was 9000-something. Prior to COVID, I had flights for I think about 4900 so I’m still salty about not getting to take that trip.
Waving from Bardstown
I got a notice from SW that may return flight plans have changed. For once they are for a positive!!
I am leaving at 6pm (as scheduled). However, I’m no longer going to Houston and waiting a few hours before departing to go home / landing at 11:30pm… Now I get to fly to ATL with a short wait and land at 8:30pm!!
I was, literally, debating changing flights this weekend so I wouldn’t be home so late!!
I’ve been observing the prices for my January dates and the prices keep going up! The roundtrip flight started somewhere in the $340 range. Today the price is $414.
Someone tell me that they will drop! I’m about 160 days out, so they have to go down – right?! I know some of you all have some spreadsheets with all your data. ![]()
It seems like flights at the 90-day mark right now are super low compared to flights further out.
When in January? If around the holiday, maybe not
Otherwise I would say they absolutely will drop and 160 days is just too far out for that to happen yet. I think they’re dropping the novermberish decemberish fares right now
January 4th - 6th.
$414 for Southwest nonstop (BNA to MCO) just seems really high. I’m talking myself out of panic purchasing…
I’d wait
Thanks! I just keep thinking of all the food I could buy with cheaper flights…

This sale is amazing! I could save at least $700 - $800. Sadly, I already have plans!
Yeah, I’d wait. That’s really high for that route.
I was able to save some on November and princess marathon weekend flights tonight
My Christmas week flights finally dipped! We got back 14k points for our family of 5.
Oh and as a bonus, I was able to use the points I got back combined with a small transfer from Chase UR and got my January bff flights for freeeee!
