Should I be concerned?

Yeah that’s a weird one that pops up from time to time. Rare, but it’s there!

I plan to cancel the resort anyhow, so I don’t care. But thing is…I never chose anything other than Rack Rate. I only clicked on the Holiday rate once because I wasn’t seeing results.

But…for grins, I selected a resort, even though it showed no availability. From that screen, it allowed me to choose a rate (which I couldn’t seem to find any other way). No specific rate was selected/highlighted. So I selected Room Only, and voila! Rooms showed up again!

Now, I can see room rates.

So…it is like by default, it is selecting NO room rate category at all, and so finds nothing. (Other than that CSR weirdness.)

Ya I guess that I feel like the existing stratification doesn’t work when the actual range is maybe $175 - $2,000 and the 3 tiers are <$150, $150-250 and $250+?? I don’t think it really narrows down the search at all.

Agreed. I feel it is purely there for psychological reasons…like Disney wants you to BELIEVE it could be POSSIBLE to get a room that cheap, just none currently available kind of thing. But in practice, most people are likely going to search based on Value, Moderate, etc.

I always thought the proper phrasing for this grammatical use was . …”for shits and giggles,”

Not sure Ryan1 does such vulgar things! :joy::dragon:

Never heard that phrasing in my life…but I wouldn’t choose to even if I had.

But do they giggle after?

I think he is and forgot his

No, I am not. Keep in mind that outside of work, movies, and literature, I just don’t find myself around folks who swear much at all. It doesn’t bother me if people do…but just not part of my lingo.

ETA: I am trying to make sense of the “alternative” phrase. It makes no sense to me. I say for grins because I am saying I was doing it just because I thought it would make me happy. So for grins makes logical sense. Even the giggles part implies a silliness that is not intended. :man_shrugging:t3:

I agree with you, but that’s how I’ve heard people say it. I’ve also heard “Just for chuckles, …” which is more consistent with your “for grins”.

Y’all had me grinning this morning.
I hear even less @ryan1 bc we ClearPlay movies, but I have heard @davej ‘s phrase from a coworker and remember being incredibly distracted by what was at hand bc the link between the two made zero sense. :winking_face_with_tongue:

Mostly I’d say, “Just for fun let’s try…” or “just for the heck of it…”

I know this isn’t the uncensored thread, but I feel like this clarification is needed here:

Ok no blur sorry.

Yes, it does. I tend to say, Just for fun,…

We use “for giggles and grins”. Not quite the same, but family-friendly.

DD22 says “for shiggs” AKA “for shits and giggles”.

I believe it is Snoop Dogg who says “For Shizzle.” No idea if it’s related, or what he means when it says that. But sounds related.
