We got our call at about 3:30 on Tuesday (BG81) and we were at the pool at Pop Century. We got changed, hopped on the Skyliner and were in line about 4:30. I didn’t time it exactly but we were in line about half an hour before finally starting the ride.
If I were to do it again, I’d go without a bag, go about 15 minutes before park opening and not bother going any further than the tapstyles. Get your BG and get the hell out of the park. We had planned on rope dropping RnR but the crowd was pretty big there so we just left and went to MK and rope dropped BTMRR with minimal crowds there.

@macoombi as tempting as it is to rope drop Batu and MFSR I think you are right unless we get an early BG. I didn’t like the first look Of galaxys edge for my boyfriend being in a line. When my friend sees it for the first time I might say let’s wait until we are called to enter GE. I don’t know which parks we will go to. This really makes it hard to plan FPs for other parks.
Monday was the last 7am open before the 8am switch. I did just what was stated above. Get to the park with at least 10mins before open… grab a BG, switch parks with Lyft to rope drop MK. Lyft driver was wondering why someone would need a Lyft 1 min after park opening. Smugglers is a lot easier to ride in the afternoon for most… making a later BG not so bad.
You never know though, there are hundreds of lucky people who get an early BG.
We actually kept pulling down and got group 7, so it worked for us. We never toggled back a screen.

I wonder if I could make it to rope drop FoP. We only have one Disney day. I was thinking HS and AK. Maaaybe do MK after hours the day before if I feel like splurging.
To take this one step further. Tap into Hollywood Studios and leave. You can get your BG even if you are not in the park at park opening.

This works for HS?! I have heard reports of people doing this at DL, but not at HS.
This would be ideal for my family on Memorial Day weekend in May.
We have no desire to be in the crush of humanity rope dropping.

Damn, that’s a great idea. I would totally do this. You could probably take advantage of EMH at another park if they open HS earlier than the EMH elsewhere.
I figured there’d be no crowds for ToT and RnRC but I was wrong and none of my family are big on a stampede at rope drop.

Yes, but if it doesn’t properly register that all your party members tapped into HS, seems like it would be difficult to straighten out. If you’re all in HS and it happens, you can grab BG for everyone showing as eligible and guest services there has been helpful in getting it fixed from what I’ve heard. Not sure it goes that well if you’ve left HS? After going through the hassle of getting there that early, not sure that’s a risk I’d be willing to take!

Would anyone be able to confirm the following please, on the simultaneous multi-user booking BG strategy:
If everyone in my group has the MDE app downloaded (at the moment only I have it). Would they each login using my credentials, or would they all create their own MDE accounts, and make sure they all have access to change plans, and then all try simultaneously on different accounts? Or all logged in to one account? I wasn’t sure if we all logged in under one account to get a BG would it cause some sort of account access conflict.

I have a question about arrival time to the park. I know that you can’t get a boarding group if you don’t tap in. On a day like today, I believe the boarding groups become available right at 8am (park opening ) and I have been practicing at home. My question is do people arrive at 7 because it takes a full hour to tap in due to the line length? Have people that arrived at 7:30 made it in? I’m not sure I would take a chance but just curious as to what everyone is seeing.

Still struggling with getting the Join Boarding Group button to illuminate at 8AM. This morning I was watching the official clock. I hit My Status at 8, 8:00:05 and 8:00:10AM. I couldn’t get the button on either screen to enable until 8:00:15. Any additional tips? Not sure why I’m struggling with that. I’ve had this problem daily.

We did this last trip where we had 3 people all logged in with the SAME MDE credentials. We all tried and one person was able to get through to the boarding group and the others got stopped after selecting the party because the BG had been assigned. Caused no issues though and we got BG 29.
We did this because I couldnt figure out at the time how to share F&F lists, but if I had found that setting before I think it would have worked equally well to have people log in to their own accounts as long as they are all friends with everyone else.

For the past 4 days with 8-8 park hours, The first BG issued was 2, and BBG started at 63. This is the closest we have seen as a trend.

What’s the best metric to figure out if things are generally improving and if so, how quickly? Maybe a 7-day moving average of boarding groups per hour?
