Two of those options are in the boardwalk area outside of EPCOT. You planning on heading to Epcot for the afternoon after a morning of fun in AK? If so, that may be the best choice…I am biased towards Il Mulino.
Disney Springs does have a lot of good options, but is a pain to get to via Disney Transportation.
I don’t think Epcot is in our plan, certainly not at this point.
The whole transportation thing is such a pain in the butt. I’m thinking, though, that we will bus to BW area and then Uber to AKL after dinner if we went this way.
I’ve done Il Mulino - before my last runDisney event in 2018, actually - and it was damn good.
I think I studied every menu when deciding where to eat. These were on the top of my list…but actually ended up picking Paddlefish (staying at POR makes DS an easy choice).
So many activities with the kiddos and had my big fam over for a costume/chili contest so that left me with less than my planned 2 hours to run my last long run today before next weekend. I ran as fast as I could to try to get more miles! The seriously strong (cold) wind was at my back and helped me run faster. I only ran 1 hour 21 minutes (9.75 miles) before being summoned by Thing 1 to get home so we could go trick or treating. It was a fun weekend and now begins my freak out re: how to get all my work done and kid stuff organized so we can leave this tundra!
I wish I had a cute costume like @kim for next weekend but I’m not organized or clever enough!
ETA a few pics of the hooligans including our “little puppy”, Buddy, the fairy Princess. I’m the Rockford Peach (hubby was Jimmy Dugan :p)
And went for my first 5k for too long(moving house and injury and building extension) was pretty happy that I could comfortably run it in under 35 mins.
Also put too much weight on this summer so need to be a stone lighter in the 8 weeks…
@Kimluvsdisney love the Tiara not sure I could cope with it getting in the way of wiping the sweat off. and tahts a good time especially with obstacles…
@OBNurseNH also just entering ADR booking point! and not sure what to do.
on this point whats a good plan for day off race, I will have driven in to event and my family will uber over to meet me are there any showers / changing areas nearby. Or will I have to drive back to hotel for shower and change and then drive back in!
breakfast suggestions?
There aren’t any showers that you can officially use. Each resort has a pool and locker rooms with a shower, though. If you can get access to the pool area you might be able to use that but it wouldn’t be a guarantee and would definitely mean taking a chance. If you did try it, I would probably suggest you aim for one of the resorts whose pools might be less closely attended and do not require magic band entry (reflecting that you are a resort guest). You would simply take the bus to that resort (I’m thinking of the values, mainly) and then use the bus to a park and carry on with your day.
Ah thats a shame, didn’t really want to sneak into a resort pool and shower there. but our hotel is near sea world so also not ideal.
I guess using one of the resorts smaller pools is possible as they don’t have magic band entry or staff.
I fly in on Friday - I’m nervous/excited. My morning run did not go too great (but it was 40F out) - but I think the sheer energy of being back at Disney will get me through.
I fly out on Friday also. I’ll be solo. Landing around 4:30. Thinking I’ll drop bags at POP and then head over to the Expo. After that trying to decide on where to have dinner.
I am SO EXCITED too! I really felt indulgent do this but now that it’s here, I realize I really need this fun break for myself!
Can you all clarify the Sunday half transportation for me, please? If I am staying on site, then there will be a bus that will take me to the starting point at MK parking lot, correct? It’s only the people who are driving who go to EPCOT and then hop on bus to MK??
