So in my case, I want to check in cabana Bay on May 14, but not visit a park/use my AP/until May 16. I’m all about saving money, but maybe the best thing to do is just buy the annual pass upfront so I can show it on check-in?

It sounds like parking for four days will cost me $108. And the premier pass is $110. It seems that premier pass is clearly the way to go as I will also get discounts on dining?

You just have to show your pass before you check-out.

Discounts is hard to calculate. I think I underestimated the amount of dining we’d pay for. But, then our original plan of one one-week trip turned into three one-week trips, mostly due to the lockdowns (and USF being awesome). For example, our second trip summer of 2020, we paid $50/night at Drury Inn and that included two hot meals per day. Our third trip we stayed onsite and gave them lots of dining money.

The rest of the email indicated that they had lost management rights to that particular property. Our family had just convinced ourselves that even if we didn’t go to Universal, we would enjoy being in Florida for a week and doing other things including enjoying the resort property the house was located in.

I am officially out of vacation planning energy or interest.

Hey. It’s not 2022 yet! Consider that the last bad news of the year, 2022 is looking up.

Take it as a sign that the house (community) you picked wasn’t meant to be, rather than the whole vacation. There are plenty of other places out there, maybe even nicer than that one!

Just read through this whole thread and was excited for your trip @QwertySC. Sounds like you had a solid plan. I understand the kids hesitation to get excited yet (I’m with them!). We are pondering Universal as well in 2022 and found a lot of helpful info here. Don’t give up hope yet. The pandemic has taught us to pivot and adapt and I hope we can do just that and have great trips this year (fingers crossed). Happy New Year!
