That has historically not been the tone of this forum. It is one of the things that has made it special.
I heard about some earlier proposals that were far, far worse than this. Inventory is going to be different than the fastpass plus days. Back with fpp, everyone had three fpps minimum. Not everyone gets Genie+, and not everyone will get this. Inventory will likely be very different. There are days today where The top tier attraction is still available for evening well into Park opening.
I don’t understand why there’s so much consternation about picking two tier twos. You only got one in general. Anyway. Now you get three, so you have two bonus selections. Those bonus selections are tier twos, but there are some decent attractions in that list, at least two of the parks.
I do understand the complaint about the loss of stacking and how it hurts late arrivers- but, Genie plus hurt people who like to tour in the morning. So it’s a trade-off. Either way. I’m still convinced that there will be ways for late arrivers to be able to get what they want. Again, we will just have to wait and see.
Besides losing the 7:00 a.m. Wake up time, the fact that I can actually select a time is a huge benefit. The fact that I have a rolling three is a huge benefit, as a lot of times. The next LL available is a couple of hours away- so if you have a rolling three you can conceivably end up always having a lightning lane ready to go.
As far as crisscrossing the park, you had that with Jeannie and I think it will be lessened here because you can actually select your times. Plus, one of the benefits of selecting times is that people are constantly changing times which opens up more availability. That happened a ton with fastpass plus.
I’m cautiously optimistic. Will I miss stacking? Sure, I made it work for us pretty well. But I was dreading this change because I heard some other things- like not being able to select another tier one and only being able to select more tier twos after you use your initial three. This is far, far better than that scenario, and maybe that’s coloring my perspective a bit.
Regarding international visitors and vpns- that really sucks. I do think vpns will work in this case as opposed to magic bands, because they didn’t stay on arrival, they stated on entering the US. It’s not like magic bands where they won’t mail it to international address, and they didn’t say you had to be on site. Just in the US.
I know. Whoever started this thread should threaten to ban her instead.
Wait do I have

and didn’t even know it??
Then simple solution…don’t buy. We all have choices. I have mine, and can absolutely make this work, maybe even for the better depending on early day of return times.
Simple repeating its a scam…and this is the worst case scenario over and over for the past 12 hours really adds little to the conversation. I think we all get it by now…you don’t like it.
It is!!! What’s the point anyway? How does this do ANY good for Disney. This is a horrible term.
But it’s not similar in FPP was free. So the majority of visitors were using it. This will not be the case with LLs. So availability should be affected. It should theoretically be better.
This is the ultimate outcome for all these changes. And I love it! I like schedules, lol. But having something to do every half hour was tedious and took me out of the magic. I’m sure my family will feel the same.
Not you too! ![]()
They are listening.
Don’t encourage this!
I find this hard to believe. I know Disney’s official wording was expect to get 2-3 but I hope people got more than that in practice!

I never did.
I don’t think that is easily assumable though.
I wonder if having a US resident on the reservation could change things. They could make plans, buy MBs for the stay? I wonder if this has been tried. Surely it has.
Could wait for the 1pm VQ as well.
I think you’re right! I only know about it because @JJT posted his outrage here! I’ve been consumed with all the changes. Well played Disney.
But I never did that. There were some tier 2s I wasn’t interested in. The ones I wanted I would wait for. I like having pre selected times. I guess the alternative is to not use it at all.
I want to add that I think the someone in question is openly insulting peoples intelligence- like they know better than the rest of us. That too has been frustrating for me to read over and over. Im sure this didnt escape @OBNurseNH either.
Does this include day of MPLLs? Or is it first available (like Genie+)?
That’s why I stopped inviting her on our trips.
“No, Jeannie, we are in Tomorrowland. We are not doing Big Thunder next. The PeopleMover is right over there.”
yes. multiply by 2 because we are typically a travel party of 7 or 8. I’m going to be much more strategic in my purchasing of LL’s going forward.
I need to know what coffee you drink in the morning.
I wont buy it, there’s no value in paying $35pp for 1 Tier 1 ride…
Just trying to add to the forum so people dont see a headline and think its a benefit when its actually a detriment
Genie+ lasted only 2 1/2 years and they were looking to replace it after a year due to poor guest satisfaction numbers
Genie+ was modified over 15x in those 2 1/2 years
This system wont last 6 months…I’ll bet anything sales drop off…
Bitter Homo Blend.
I used it, I loved it, I hit every ride I wanted to in a single day using FP for most of them. I also loved Genie +. But it’s going, and I don’t see any value in constantly telling people they are wrong to not be as upset about this as you are. A little bit of positivity goes a long way.
The other negative I see is it’s going to be harder to change plans day of. Genie being day of lets you swap days and still had the same blank slate.
Sure didn’t escape me as I read all 500+ comments…there is making your point…then there is beating a dead horse…
Yum!
That makes no sense- you’re paying whether you use the old system or new. You don’t have to use those two rides, you were paying for them if you use them before.
I’ve been monitoring The times this morning to see what I would “get” on a hypothetical day. At Epcot I envision A 9:00 spaceship earth, 10:00 living with the land, and 11:00 Remy, just for the sake of argument. I just tapped into spaceship earth In my hypothetical situation, and was able to grab Frozen at 9:30 am after a few refreshes.
I then move up my living with the land to 9:30 so I can go on that next and then try to book something else. Sauron currently has 11 :30 return time, so I’ll probably be able to get that. But keep in mind, the times will be more distributed throughout the day as people will be booking things for different times, so this really isn’t completely illustrative.
For Hollywood studios, I did ToT at 9:00, TSMM at 9:30, and Slinky dog at 10:00. Tapping in to ToT at 9:00, I saw a return time for MF at 11:20. Could grab that.
For MK let’s assume HM at 9, Buzz at 9:30, and SM at 10. So I tap into HM, now I could pick JC at 3, BTM at 12:30, and who knows about Tiana.
That’s not to say I couldn’t get better times by just a little bit of refreshing. This is not going to be that hard.
I hope you’re right. But VPNs used to let you order a magic band to the hotel, and no longer do. I think they are just blocking them.
I know its gone, but squeaky wheel…Again, Genie+ was modified 15x in its 2 1/2 year existence because it was flawed…
This too will be modified because its extremely flawed, right out of the gate, just voicing my opinion to hope it changes sooner rather than later
I dont get how they do all this R&D and come up with this
There’s really nothing to be positive about
If you want to pretend Disney does no wrong then by all means please do
But when they take away more and more and then charge you for it, I like to call them out vs praising them
We typically travel once a year as a standard family (7-8 people) and every couple of years as extended (15-30 people). As the “Disney expert” having the ability to tell my extended family that we ARE riding specific rides, or managing their expectations ahead of time if we can’t is priceless to me.
