Poly Tower Opening

The points chart is what I expected, basically like RR.
The price per point is $225 before incentives. I’m not in the market to buy there, but I would very much like to stay. It’ll be telling to see how low the purchase price goes with incentives. The resale market is flooded with Poly contracts. Our guide already called us to see if we’re interested.

“Plenty” is a relative term. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Plenty for my family vacations in a nice room. Not plenty for Bungalorian Bash. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::rofl:

Just realized Poly expires 2066! That’s one of the furthest out. Didn’t realize that. The points cost more than my SSR points obviously, but they get an extra 12 years of points. This is dangerous.:rofl::rofl:

Oooohhhhh do you want to learn the fancy math? For sure it would justify buying Poly.

Tell me the incentives for 150 points and I’ll start thinking about it more seriously.

In the very least, you get access to “Membership Extras”?

These are the current add-on incentives for RR. There’s no telling what they will be for Poly when released, but speculation is that they’ll be lower than this.

This is what Villas at Disneyland Hotel looked like when it went live

So 150 Poly points would be somewhere between $198 and $105 per point with incentives probably? I just looked at DVC Resale Market and $180 seems to be the rough going rate for resale points. Not a huge differential.

Yea, that’s about what I would expect. Somewhere around $200/pt. With those numbers, resale would save about 10% off direct. If you already have a direct contract, resale may make sense. If you don’t want to stay RR or FWCabin

So, then you don’t own anymore? Would you then rebuy or recommit?

$8.23

That’s very reasonable! Only a little more than SSR.

Yeah- these resale prices are high! Usually there is more of a difference. Especially given future points limitations.

Yes. I own 50 points at Beach Club and after 2042 I own nothing. Most people think they will rennovate Boardwalk and Beacj Club when they expire, reset the points chart to make these rooms more expensive and then sell them all over again. Old owners might get a special incentive to buy?

The expiration year changes the math a lot. So I bought Beach Club for $135 per point. That means I paid $7.5 per each point I can use over the life of the contract. (135/18 years).

At $225 per point, Poly for 42 years, Poly is $5.35.

Can’t wait. Poly tower would fit us really well. $200 pp would be spot on. $210 is a bit of a stretch but in budget. I asked our guide in the summer about breaking into (3) separate 50 pt contracts (just in case we needed to sell)….and sounds easy to do, but $300 more in paper costs.

Anyone buy direct and have broken into (3) smaller contracts? If so, would you do it again?

We bought direct in 2023 and separated the points into two contracts. I don’t recall what the rules were specifically, but I believe one contract had to be at least 150, so I suspect they would not allow you to divide your 150 points into three contracts. You do have to pay closing costs on each contract, so that’s an additional expense up front. But for us it made sense because we don’t necessarily want to hold the contracts until they expire (or we expire!). Our reasoning was that then we would be able to resell them more easily and for a better price when they are smaller contracts. I still think that’s true and have no regrets so far.
