Poll: Help Me Decide About DLR Dining

The kids and I arrive the night of 5/17. Carson’s girlfriend arrives the next night (she works both her jobs on 5/18). My DH didn’t want to come. My DS graduates from San Diego State University on Saturday so we can just drive over the next evening. Sorry we are missing you!

The three I picked I picked not only because they all serve great drinks with the most generous pours but their food is also great. Napa Rose is excellent also. I have to admit lately we have been passing the TS for on the run Corndogs, churros, Mickey pretzels and beer.

Honestly, I would not do too many TS meals. But that’s just me. I love Din Tai Fung. Haven’t been to the DD location, but we have several up here. It’s a special occasion meal for us because it’s a little further away. We have another (closer) place that is similar but not quite as good (or pricey) called Dough Zone. One thing we do not lack in this area is good Asian food!

I love Carnation Cafe for the Walt vibes. We had dinner there last summer and it was good, decent diner food. The pie ala mode was fabulous.

Those are my two “other” choices along with Hearthstone Lounge and Centrico.

More importantly, what would I skip! I would skip Great Maple. I have not really enjoyed my food there either of the two times I ate there. I would also probably skip Lamplight just because I’ve had too many horrible customer service experiences there. But I get why that’s on your list.

So close! Congratulation to your son.

My DH only wanted to come if he could stay in the hotel room except for meals.

He is staying home to go and check on DS’s cat while we are gone.

We ate there in December. I was not impressed. The food was not worth the cost. There were 8 of us and they forgot to make one of my DGD’s meals.

I’m going in May and dinner at Carthy is what I am looking forward to the most!!

Oh, speaking of DL QS, we need to talk about Bengal Barbecue.

The meat was ok; it’s better than 'Ohana

Sorry, that’s not a high bar to clear, anymore.

But, anyway, the rice. Like what was that? I swear it was instant. Minute Rice quality :grimacing:

It used to be better. Larger portions than they serve now, and for less money. No idea about the rice. We use Bengal BBQ as a snack place usually, not a full meal. Just a skewer or two, no rice.

I was using the rice to wash the meat down with, and I needed that rice. Then I needed the meat to wash down the rice…

My slightly picky 16YO loved Din Tai Fung.

Din Tai Fung is listed as Table Service on DL page. But, on their regular page, it lists pickup options. Do they do carryout? We’re not much of a table service family.

You can not tell me that dtf .com was still available when they wanted it. They had to have paid a PRETTY penny for that site!

I’m sure this is fine, but I would strongly recommend eating this food on site. I imagine it loses a lot of its quality by being bagged.

I got to try Bengal BBQ last year. I really liked it, except for paying $8 for 4 bites of meat. It was supposed to be my lunch. However, I ate 3 skewers and was still hungry…:rofl::shark::shark:

We looooooooove Bengal BBQ. But it is ridiculously priced and definitely a snack. When we get it we either buy the garlic twists at Maurice’s and make an impromptu meat sandwich with our skewer meat (and every one of us gets 1 skewer and 1 garlic twist each) OR we get skewers as like an appetizer and share a few meals at either Stage Door or Tiana’s or it’s just a snack to hold us over until we head out of the parks to eat a more full meal.

I did try the garlic pretzel bread as a vlogger (SoCalDisneyDad) really hypes it. However, I didn’t care for it. I don’t remember why. I just remember not finishing it and being sad…:rofl:
