Pointless thread

I wanted to share the fact that I’ve just booked an emergency back-up trip to DLP in case my August WDW trip gets rescheduled again because you people won’t open your damn country back up.

I knew you’d appreciate the smartness of the move. I will have Disney action this summer, one way or another.

Your thread title is misleading  but you probably meant to do that

I loved your DLP report, the pictures where wonderful!

Solution: Move to the U.S. permanently. I can help you study for your citizenship exam Homer Simpson style.

I’ve been waiting for you to throw us a Me-Question Thing. Thank goodness. Now I know the Universe is not Off Balance

On opening our incredibly well-run and safe country against your monarchy-obsessed dysfunctional hordes – Yes, will be open once you are vaccinated. Not that we will be, but we need your $$$

I had the first one today. Second is due in June. Trip is in late August.

Let. Me. In.

I won’t need to. I lived in the US for three years and I know more about your bloody country than you do.

I saw a YouTube video the other day. Five questions to Harvard students and you got an iPhone if you got all five correct.

Here are two (no cheating):

  1. Which is the only US state to share a border with only one other state?

  2. Which US president served for the shortest time?

I got both right instantly.

I got both wrong after actually sitting and trying to think.

I already established in the daily thread I’m a self absorbed, uncultured Southern Californian.

I couldn’t care to learn about my own state north of Malibu and I still refer to 75% of the country as “one of those states in the middle”. I have exactly zero chance passing anyone else’s residency, let alone my own.

I’ll amend that to I was raised as a self absorbed, uncultured Southern Californian.

My mom took me on road trips all over the country, but as my brother was driving half of them, I was just keeping my eyes closed trying not to get sick.

As an adult, I have a healthy thirst for knowledge about here and across the pond and elsewhere. I am fascinated with Chicago and the state of New York (history wise). I can’t image what I’d be like with Actual history like in London. I’d lose my ever loving mind and be that crazy loud American.

Useless trivia. I’d like to hear their definition of socialism, communism.

I didn’t even have to cheat!

I remembered not from school, but from Jay Leno interviewing in the street!

I would like to add that it’s @sanstitre_has_left_the_building’s fault I’m even here in the forum. It was his DLP thread last year that got me to Lurker status, and @Randall1028’s infamous Chocolate-less trip last fall that got me engaged in chat.

Now I won’t shut up. But it was the culture of Paris that piqued my interest!

I consider myself a geographile and a history buff. I got 1 right but not 2 (I knew the story but I switched the name). It’s been a while since I’ve studied though so not fair.

In any case, the analogy still stands since I was Homer Simpson in the comparison! Apu ends up doing better by forgetting everything Homer taught him.

I prefer HIMYM style.

I just appreciate these 2 sentences taken together out of context.

You seem to suffer from the misapprehension that knowing things is a requirement for citizenship
