8 night stay at Boardwalk Villas, checking in Saturday of Thanksgiving week, checking out Sunday.
Requested via TP:
Bldg Disney’s BoardWalk Villas North Building, high floor (Flrs 3, 4 or 5) NE-facing room.Exmple:3055 on 3rd, 5055 on 5th.
Room received: 5053. One room from our exact requested room!!! There are only a handful of rooms in that section, and we got one of them.
Other input:
We would be so grateful to be matched with a high floor (3,4,5) in the North Bldg, and if available, overlooking the Village Green.
We are celebrating my 79 yr old Mom’s birthday, one she originally requested (and I planned) for her 75th. She ended up caring for my Dad though a lengthy illness, so 5 years later, we are fulfilling her wish! but…now she’s worried about ‘keeping up’ with her grandsons in the parks…so she’s asked to see about a nice balcony where she can retreat when she needs to rest. Thanks for any consideration, knowing of course a request is just a request.”
We got to the hotel around 10.30am, and while I had signed up for e-confirmation, I stopped by the front desk while my family was dropping off bags with the concierge, to see about our room request.
I’m glad I did, because the incredible CM said I had competing requests (one with a request for a closed balcony). I didn’t even know what that meant, so he called the reservations team to make sure they deleted the ‘2nd request”
for a solid balcony, reinforced that we’d like to be close to the elevator on a high floor overlooking the Village Green, and we went on our way to the parks.
He said that my room request was popular indeed, so no promises.
We were eating lunch in Mexico at The QS place when I got my room ready text.
I misread the room number and i couldn’t find it in the TP room finder. “Jeez. Where is this room?”
Then my DS16 leaned over and said, Mom, I think the room is 5053…not what you think it is.
I did a jig on the spot, just like I had a half hour earlier in line for the Three Caballeros when I secured our first test track at a drop!
We LOVED this room location.
We all spent a ton of time on that balcony, but my Mom was out there ALL THE TIME! In the mornings when she got up before us, when we had our midday breaks, and always at night. She was the one who told me we could see FW’s from the balcony.
We pulled one of the foot stools out there to add another seat, brought blankets out there, settled in.
The only con to this balcony was that there was no privacy barrier to the room to our left, unlike the one to our right. Sometimes You were sitting out there next to neighbors.
We felt like we’d won the room location lottery. Best room ever, especially how close it was to elevator and lobby.
Easy access to elevators, which took you to pool, to bus depot, to laundry unit….
It was a pleasure to come back to the hotel each night and have a boardwalk view at a garden/pool booking, and know the walk was so short to our room.
