I did, I did, I did!!! It was completely magical and sincerely fabulous. I was almost afraid to say that out loud while I was there for fear I was gonna jinx it! And then the second parade was rained out of MNSSHP Sunday night. Oh, well!!! Other than that, the whole trip was just perfect! I’m trying to figure out how to do a “short” trip report. I couldn’t report live while I was there because my phone wanted me to put in my password to access the message board forum. I couldn’t remember my password and didn’t want to set a new one! LOL!
But yes, thank you, it was a wonderful trip and a very, very happy birthday.
Resort: Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo House Villas
Room type: 1BR villa
Type of request: Touring Plans fax
Room requested: 5271
Room received: 5229
What I really wanted was a room by an elevator. I did get one, but the elevator was in a weird spot! There is an elevator between x238 and x253, but it doesn’t really go anywhere special. Going to the 3rd floor just goes back to more rooms. There’s no club level access. The 1st floor is CM access only. I guess it’s fine for the back part of kudu trail, but the front part is better served by the main elevators.
I gave your post a “heart” because I love all these posts (this is still my favorite thread in the forum), but that elevator situation was weird. I’m sorry you weren’t placed closer to the main elevators!
Class of room booked: The Little Mermaid Standard Room
Method used (e.g. fax request, note on reservation, on-line check-in, etc.) TP Request
Room requested: 7513
Additional circumstances: We would love a view of the water and near bus stops and skyliner, if possible.
Result: 7837, received a view of the water, 4th floor and no footsteps above us, and it was just the next wing of the same building from my original request. We are happy with it.
OK, fellow TP-ers. Just got back from the Disney Cruise/WDW stay combo. Had really good success with the room results. So happy about both of our stays and thank you TP. These were both tp room requests. So here goes:
Nov 29th & 30th
Grand Floridian
Resort View Double Bed with sleeper
Requested 5527 in Sago Cay
Received 6420 in Sugar Loaf
So we get to the GF from the cruise super early at like 11:00am and the already had our room ready. We got Sugar Loaf 6420. It was the same room on the top floor facing the pool. Huge room!! Top floor so it had vaulted ceilings and then the entire offset for just that room make for a large seating area with couch and chairs and its own tv as well. Very large room. Con is no balcony if that is on your wish list. But for us, it was perfect and just a quick out the doors to Gasparilla or the lobby. Pics below.
Next stop a surprise night at the Contemporary. Turned out lovely as well.
Nov 30th
Contemporary Resort
Theme Park View Room
Double and sleeper
Requested 5527
Received 4757 which is about the same room as requested but on the 9th floor instead of the 11th. No complaints at all. Centered nicely and perfect for the fireworks on Sunday night.
We requested 4610 or similar ant OKW. Arrived around 2 pm and the cast member said BLDG 46 was not going to be available at all, and she could put us in building 54 right now, saying it’s quiet back here.
We have a water view with the highway behind. The highway isn’t so loud that it’s annoying. We were in the AK today and wanted to shower and put our feet up before heading to Epcot for EE hour.
As my sister said, “a shower beats the perfect room.” This one is nice, and I have hearing loss and won’t hear the highway noise when my hearing aids are out. (I can barely hear the highway with them in and the balcony doors are closed.) We have a car so we’re not worried about time to bus and the main area.
