Please Post Your Room Request Results

  • Resort: Disney’s Wilderness Lodge - Boulder Ridge Villas

  • Class of room booked: Deluxe Studio

  • Method used: TP request

  • Room request: I would love to be on the 4th floor in a NE-facing room, e.g. 4531 or 4533 (or 4539 or 4543). If not possible, I would love to be near the bus transportation, e.g rooms 1506, 1510, 1514, 1516 (1st) or rooms 3503, 3506, 3510 (3rd).

  • Result: 1516.

I arrived at the resort before noon and asked if a room was available. The CM made a call and then said that they could see I had made a specific room request, but that the requested rooms were not available. They asked if I would be ok with another room, and I confirmed that I was (I wanted to take a midday break and was delighted that any room was available). Looking back on my request now, I see that 1516 was actually on the list of the room numbers I mentioned as a possibility (if a high floor with a view of the lake was not possible). It was conveniently located immediately off the BR lobby/walkway to the buses. This meant that the small patio was not particularly private, and I did not use it. I did sit in two of the seating areas in the beautiful lobby (breakfast and coffee in front of the fireplace, and lunch in some big comfy chairs near large windows). Loved this resort and its amenities!

It was my first time staying here, and even though it was only a one-night stay I loved it. I have some more photos and comments on the resort from this point of my trip report. Have an amazing trip!

Did you make a room request? You have a 2-bed, right?

I did make a room request for our 2BR reservation. I believe I asked for floors 2-4 near transportation.

Nice. I think I was also thinking “anything but the top floor.” We had a really nice corner studio last time but I REALLY don’t want the 5th floor so I think I’m going to just do that.

To be more precise, what I don’t want is a couch bed in lieu of the Murphy. I have heard there may be some 5th floor rooms with Murphy beds, but I’d rather not chance it.

Yes, that’s my same thought! Fortunately I think there are only two, 2-bedrooms on the top floor if my search went correctly.

From what I remember reading, AKV Values can not have any requests attached to them. Just the sheer lack of the number of rooms means that everyone just gets what they get.

That’s not true, really

You can request anything you want.

But given that there are only 8 (IIRC) such units, it’s more unlikely you will get your request than that your request will be met.

September 9th - 17th

  • Resort: Boardwalk Villlas

  • Class of room booked: 1 bedroom villa, resort view

  • Method used: TP request

  • Room request: 2121

  • Result: 2135

It was just a few doors down from what we’d requested. We were at the end of the hall and just 1 flight of stairs away from the door leading to the DHS path. A short walk down the hall, near our original request of 2121, was the door that led to another flight of stairs. At the bottom, two doors…one went to the sidewalk that led to the busses, the other led to the quiet pool. And heading toward the lobby, which is on the 2nd floor, there was no need to take an elevator. It was a perfect spot for us.

We arrived early, around 10:00 and had a late breakfast from Boardwalk Deli. Then I checked with the CM to see if our room was ready and it was! Time was 11:00 so we were very happy!

I love that area! My last couple of trips I was on the 3rd floor but same area.

OK so then I checked in on the 17th

I ALSO had a 1BR Resort View booked
Via TP I requested any of the 1BR overlooking the Village Green (ending in xx51)
I did not get that room

I also did not get your room - but how cool would that have been if I had?!

I did get my backup room area, any room in the block of rooms ending xx89 - xx95.
I had requested a room on the upper levels, for view of ToT and the river with ferries coming and going
But I got 1091, on the first floor.
And at first I was kind of bummed
But when I realized that I could still see the ferries coming and going, I was more than okay with it.

What I didn’t care for though was that there was no divider of any sort between any of the first floor rooms on the outside:

Isn’t that kind of weird?? I made extra sure to keep the door locked. I mean, you could literally walk to any other room on the first floor and enter via their balcony door if it was unlocked.

But aside from that one small detail it was fantastic: close to everything, smack in between the two pools, and I could see the ferries while I had my coffee

This is one reason I always request floor 2+.

I don’t typically care, and have had 1st floor in other locations but never have had this situation. I think I’m thinking of Poly (hotel side) and OKW specifically. Oh and AKL

Next time at BWV I will definitely ask for 2nd flr or higher.

Is this common in other resorts?

I thought resort view was the old standard view rooms? The village green has always been pool/garden view. Isn’t that preferred view ? Did they change everything? (I ask based on the AKL views seem to have changed at some point).

Oops I did have pool view. My mistake
And there are only like 4 rooms that overlook Village Green so I knew my chances were slim.

There were no dividers between any of the patios of the first floor BR studios where I stayed this week.

Good to know. I guess I will need to know this going forward!
