Please Post Your Room Request Results

Ah - I see what it is. It’s a filter not really what we call a “bookable category” (like preferred, standard, water view, etc)

And it hides unless you check the box

I see that now!

Thank you!!

yeah - I only looked for it when I had a broken foot, myself.
{Which I know isn’t truly an accessibility issue, but it had me thinking. }

Definitely they do. You have to search for accessible rooms; there is a checkbox. Then they list only the accessible rooms. They have tubs with rails, wheelchair accessible with roll in showers, etc.

Question:

I booked a Boulder Ridge 2-BR Resort View. When I pull up the Room Finder, I am given the option of Courtyard, Standard, or Woods. I don’t think these are bookable categories on points, right? Or is mine a Standard room?

They aren’t. There’s only one bookable category for BRV

Thanks! I knew I could count on you for this question. :+1:

I love Boulder Ridge and last time we stayed there I googled the room number and it came up in a group of like “the worst rooms at WDW.” I just wanted to say I vehemently deny that category!

It was these rooms that overlook the covered walkway between WL and BRV. I guess some people think it’s crazy loud when people drag suitcases over the walkway. We didn’t notice at all and I loved the “woods” view.

Moral of the story, I hope you get your request! But if you get a room in this section, don’t panic!

We requested 405 at BCV. We got 243. Not really close to what we requested but we were happy with room and location.

Thanks for that! I imagine we will like that area since it is closer to transportation. But I will try to also appreciate a good view or quiet location. I did see one comment on a room at the inside corner you circled that said it was right above the smoking area and so their balcony was not a pleasant place to be.

I requested any 2BR on floors 2-4 that is close to transportation. I don’t want floor 5 because it has the couch bed as opposed to Murphy-style bed in the living room. I prefer not to be on the ground floor though.

I definitely think if you want anything but the 5th floor that that is a good way to go to make sure.

It was the same hotel. I was glad we got first floor, and the CM at check in helped me out of Country Fair when she realized I had a car (she made the change bc the roads around Country Fair were being repaved, so that was nice.)

That’s super great! This kind of thing is what gets lost with online check-in. I’ve only recently become comfortable going to the desk if what I was given is not what I was hoping for, or if I arrive and there is not a room ready for me but I’d be happy with any that was.

Aww did you not realize there was a quiet pool a short stroll away? Actually two - one at Turtle Pond (a little further) and one at Southpoint. Neither offers food, drink, games, or a slide though.

That building is a fantastic building. I really want to stay in it one day!

Oh! I should have said this!
I went in bc nothing was showing on my app. But it did turn out for the best. Also - our bands hadn’t charged food at BB and I needed help.

I vaguely knew there were two other pools, but we’d seen the first one and that’s what DD had suggested. She was able to get the Mickey pretzel she’d missed at the park too, so it worked out.
I LOVED OKW. I will always at least look into it (though I doubt I’ll be able to afford regularly.)

I started going after my Feb 2021 trip to the Poly. That time I had stored my luggage with Bell Services and headed to Epcot. Kept checking the app all day and it kept not having a room number. Just as I was sitting down to dinner at La Hacienda I get a text to check with the front desk. I posted on FB like “Am I getting upgraded or moved or something?” and my TA saw it and reached out to the Poly then messaged me back and said for some reason my Magic Band was not linking with the room (yet I’d used it for park admission and dining plan?).

After that I have gone to the front desk and checked to make sure my band is linked. If I haven’t gotten a room number I’ll say “I know my room isn’t ready yet, but I just want to make sure my band is linked.” And the CM has always found me an available room - usually at that point I’m not concerned with my exact request if they can get me in a room to avoid storing bags.

Just repeating that I really love this thread. Always makes me happy to see something added to it.

Which makes this more difficult to confess: I don’t know if I want to make a room request for my late October trip to the All Star Movies. I know Touring Plans recommends the Toy Story section. I’m just not sure I would actually be unhappy with any room assigned to me. I already booked “Preferred.” I already really like that resort. I really love the Fantasia section and have a hankering to stay in the Dalmatians area… but is that enough of a reason to ask for a specific room?

And of course, if I don’t make a room request, I can’t post the result in this thread.

This is hard! LOL!!!

You could always make a general room request (area/theme) and know that whatever you get you’ll be happy :woman_shrugging:

I like to request rooms, but because I’m asking for accessible rooms, it’s not like it’s very easy to get a specific room. I think there are 4 rooms that qualify at ASMo for preferred roll-in shower accessible rooms, so the choice is pretty limited…. I’m still going to request a parking lot view.

You could make a request saying, I don’t want a specific room but would love to have any preferred room in the Dalmatian Section. I do that at CBR and Pop since its not a room I want but rather a building or area.

Resort : Beach Club Villas
Class of room booked : Deluxe Studio through rented points
Method : TP Request
Room requested : I don’t recall the exact language I used, but I requested to be near my sister’s room and facing the pool/canal like Room 314.
Additional Circumstances :
Result : 255

We’ve used the Touring Plans room request feature many times and always got exactly or very close to what we requested. This wasn’t on the correct side of the building and faced the road but my sister’s room was only 2 doors down and we didn’t hear any road noise so it was fine. If we were higher up we could have seen Spaceship Earth but on this floor it was mostly trees. Here’s the one photo I took from the balcony with the sphere peeking through. It was a convenient short walk to and down one flight of stairs to the parking lot (rental car).
