What number did you call to reach Jambo directly?
So what I did was go through the messenger in the Disney App— then they sent in a request for the hotel to call me. They called me pretty quickly.
July 2025 - Preview Test Track
- Resort: POP Century
- Class of room booked: Standard
- Method used: TP request sent 07/01
- Room requested: 4160
- Additional circumstances: Disney check-in the day of 07/17, requested 60’s bldg, ground floor
- Result: 9324, 90’s section, Bldg 9
- Note: Last minute trip scheduled in less than 30 days, really whatever happens - happens, I was not going to be bothered. We went for our first AP preview. It really wasn’t bad. One long walk in the morning to the skyliner, but we hopped to MK and the buses were super close coming back late at night, and it made unloading/loading a breeze.
Still don’t understand the room request option if requests are total opposite of what is assigned,
It’s just a request by a third party (TP) unrelated to WDW.
And with a last minute trip, and check-in within 17 days of booking, all other rooms were likely already assigned by the time your request went out (TP sends the initial request at 30 days to be ahead of the room puzzle being worked out).
You can always visit the desk or talk with someone via chat to ask if anything else is available. I did exactly that in June when I wasn’t happy about the location of my YC room (I used chat) and I ended up with a perfectly situated room that was much closer to my original request. It never hurts to ask.
You’re right. And I did consider asking. I also understand the 3rd party part of it. The part I don’t understand is the Disney room request. From the Disney app I was able to choose the 50’s bldg and then I chose ground floor. But, when I really considered what our plan was, 90’s was ok. We went to DS the first night and the busses were right there and it was great coming back after MK fireworks. So, all in all I wasn’t disappointed. It was still a wonderful trip.
It’s just a request, even though it’s on the Disney app. If everyone checking in on the same day requests the same thing they can’t give it to everyone.
@len - I’m trying to find the following room type for All Star Movies, and nothing is coming up:
Preferred Room. Wheelchair accessible with roll-in shower and option for hearing accessibility. 1 queen bed and 1 queen sleeper table.
These are my filters, but nothing is showing up.
Here’s what’s showing in the dropdown for room type:
The room you requested is in building 4 which is actually in the 1960’s section. When you chose 50’s building from the Disney app, you contradicted your TP request. The room assigner may not have known exactly what you wanted since you had two different requests.
I’m struggling with deciding if I should make a TP room request for our upcoming stay. We are 15 days out today.
I did online check in first, 2 days ago. I selected arrive before 4PM and “near lobby” as first and only priority.
We are staying at 1BR BWV (Garden/Pool view).
I don’t really have a preference other than near lobby. I guess maybe 2nd floor near lobby would be nice to avoid elevators/stairs.
Does anyone have a specific room, room line or a way to handle a TP request for this situation?
With the new data we have, there are exactly 4 rooms in AS Movies, all of them in Building 8:
- Floor 1: 8762 (You should have a view of the courtyard)
- Floor 2: 8859 (Pool)
- Floor 3: 8918 and 8962 (Landscape and Courtyard, respectively)
I’d pick a random 2nd floor room near the lobby, and write in the free text box that my number one priority is to be close to the lobby, and it would also be nice to be on the second floor but being close to the lobby is more important.
Thank you!
Wow. Hardly worth sending in a room request, then. I still will, though.
We had the two bedroom across the hall from you and next to the stairs, in 2010.
It is a very long walk. By the end of our week’s stay the hallway felt considerably longer ![]()
Thank you for the photos. Our room was so busy with all the patterns. They look better now.
I noticed the lack of accessible rooms at the values last year. My only request was walk in shower.
All Star Music was unable to honor that request. At our check in two CMs apologized profusely, asking if it was OK to put us in a tub shower room for one night and move us to a moderate resort in the morning, that did have a walk in shower. We agreed. Check in did take awhile as the CMs tried to find an available room.
At 8 am a CM knocked on our door to pick up our luggage. That evening at Riverside it took several hours to find our luggage. It was an absolute farce. ![]()

I don’t recall how many walk in showers are at Riverside, but it’s a greater percentage than at a value.
Our shower had a leaky hose that completely failed on our last day. We hadn’t mentioned it because we didn’t want to be moved. I did think that hose was why the room was available and why we were not moved the night before.
That’s weird because it’s a bookable room. Did they double-book? Or maybe they had problems with one of the rooms?
I don’t know what happened other than we arrived about 8 pm, maybe 8:30. There were 8 or more people waiting to check in. It was the first week of December. Very busy.
I was not surprised that the room I requested wasn’t available. I think I may have read that there is no guarantee that a requested room will be available. I was genuinely surprised that the CMs - who were supervisors - were so apologetic as I wasn’t expecting a room with a walk in shower given how few there are in the resort. I had read 1 per building which is more than what Len had been told.
If a moderate had shown any availability for that week I doubt that I’d have booked a value.
Oh, I see. A walk-in shower is different than an accessible roll-in shower. I’m slow on the uptake. Accessible rooms are guaranteed when you book them.
Being honest here - I’ve never noted that as a bookable category in the booking engine. I’ve always known it to be a request only, and this after calling in to speak to guest services for a guest of mine with this need.
You have me curious. How have you booked an accessible category? I know on the DVC site you can book this type of room specifically but I’ve never noticed it for hotels and I’ve thought that interesting.
On the UK site it’s definitely bookable, you can select it before you even see the hotel availability. If there are different types of accessible room - like views or preferred - you get the choice between them, and if there are no accessible rooms available it just says there are no rooms, it won’t show non-accessible.
