Please Post Your Room Request Results

For DVC rooms I find DVC MS to be the way to go. I have had no luck with faxes requests (for DVC) and have always been in the ballbark when the request was put through MS.

New to renting DVC points. We have a split stay at OKW and AL Jambo in December and would like to put in room requests. What is MS?

Member Services. I’m not sure if you can use Member Services to request a room when you are renting. I think it may be owners only.

Thank you for explaining. Helpful to know!

For what it’s worth, I have only ever requested through Touring Plans and have gotten something close to my request before. Not often, but sometimes - so I know they get the requests.

And you can always call the resort when you arrive, chat via the MDE app, or go to the front desk to request a different room if your request is not honored.

Echoing others- I find talking to DVC memeber services the easiest, but the front desk will absolutely be helpful.

I have used Touring Plans with my DVC rentals. I usually get what I asked for.

Yes, that’s different than Member Services though

I always use touring plans email requests, never member services , and I almost always get one of the rooms (or very close) that I request. I always give an area and range of rooms.

There are some resorts I never request (CCV for example ) .

Yeah. I’m aware. The one time I called MS for something about the room, they told me I couldn’t ask as I was not the owner. So I just decided not to deal with them

Fresh back from the Poly tower. And like Charlie Brown, I cannot resist that football, so I had submitted a room request. I remain in awe of those who consistently get close to their requests. I consistently do not.

Room: tower resort view deluxe studio (cash booking, not points)
Request method: TP fax
Almost all resort view studios face the parking lot, except on floor 2, where some face the side of the main resort and appear to have a partial lagoon view. So I requested those, of course, partly for the view and partly to be closer to the main resort.
Result: the other side of the tower, floor 3 (8311)

Not what I requested. But it was still an awesome room! It was right at monorail height, so I had great views of the monorail off the balcony, which I enjoyed, and the track largely obscures the view of the parking lot. Once the construction is gone, the view will mostly be monorail track and golf course. This room was also almost exactly across from one of the two large terraces that face the lagoon, which I thought was a huge perk. I went and sat there a couple of times, and I had it all to myself both times. I also like being on a lower floor because it makes using the stairs easier when I do not want to wait for elevators. I would love to stay in that room again.

If I use TP to submit a Room Request, should I NOT also complete the “Room Request” section of the online check-in? Wasn’t sure if one would negate the other or double my chances that someone actually reads it lol…

The conventional wisdom is to NOT complete the online check-in room request field - just leave it blank. Just makes sense that if it is at all contradictory it might override your specific request, and potentially it literally overrides your TP request - we’re not sure about the mechanics.

  • Resort: POP
  • Class of room booked: Standard/2 beds
  • Method used (e.g. fax request, note on reservation, on-line check-in, etc.): TP request
  • Room requested: 4440
  • Additional circumstances (anything that may have affected your request): asked for upper floor, quiet and in building 4
  • Result: 4437

This result was actually even better. 4437 is a corner room. It was soooo quiet and we never saw any other guests near our room. The closest stairs brought us down to the end of the line for the skyliner (when there was a line). It was perfect and I would request 4437 for a future trip. Oh, and our room was ready before noon which was amazing because we had already arrived and thought we would have to store our luggage with bell services.

  • Resort: AKL

  • Class of room booked: 2 queen standard view

  • Method used: TP request

  • Room requested: 2454 but put in notes that I did not have a specific room request

  • Additional circumstances (anything that may have affected your request): in the notes section of the TP request I wrote: "I would love to request a room in the Zebra Trail area. I’d be happy with any room in this area. I like the partial views of the pool and savanna the rooms in this area provide. Thanks for your consideration.

  • Result: 4582 which had partial savanna views with AMAZING views of animals–Giraffes, zebra, nyala, kudu, okapi, wildebeest, guineafowl. Absolutely perfect room.

At RR I had a Tower Studio booked. Via TP I requested 8719 for a more full-on view of Skyliner/Caribbean Beach/Sunset while still having a view of Spaceship Earth

The universe sometimes knows better.

I was given 8721, the center room in the tower on that level and I couldn’t have been happier!

I had a great view of Skyliner/Caribbean Beach/Sunset, but a face-on view of Spaceship Earth which I could see from my bed. I had an exceptional view of the Epcot fireworks as well as the MK fireworks! It was extremely close to my request, but even better. This was a win!

At BLT I had a deluxe studio lake view (which is now preferred view) booked. I was all over the place with my room request but since I learned that the north end of the tower is still in refurb (and it very much was!) I decided to go with a request I felt was more likely to get me a refurb, in the south tower.

I requested 8440 and received 8140 just two floors below (yes two, because otherwise there would be a 13th floor which - although there is, nobody will call it that LOL).

I was not in the least bit disappointed with this lovely view:

The room was very quiet - I almost wondered if there was anyone else staying nearby except for the young children I did see playing in the hallway once (but they were not disruptive at all). I was close to the elevators, and therefore very close to the skybridge to CR for food, drink, shopping, and monorail! LOVED this room!
