Is there a site that gives estimated travel times at WDW using Disney transportation? We would like to rope drop HS from the GF using EE, so what time do we need to get on a bus? Also, how long does the Skyliner take to go from HS to Epcot? These things don’t seem to be in the touring plans.
Buses start running 75-90 minutes before EE. You should plan to be at the bus stop at that time. Disney transportation allows you to be at the front of the line. The parking lots open for cars and ride shares 60 minutes before EE but the first buses have entry before that.
The full route (you have to transfer) is on the order of 15 to 20 minutes. If you happen to be leaving HS and there is a boat, you can take that as well, which has a similar time. Skyliner probably has a slight advantage during midday most of the time, but either is fine.
You can also walk it, which takes 25-30 minutes, give or take.
It’s very dependent on when you go. The ride itself is very short, but you have to switch at Caribbean Beach, which can take time if there are a lot of incoming people from the other Skyliner resorts.
The page for each Disney resort on the TP website has a table that gives approximate travel times for each mode of transport for each park.
The information others have given above is more useful than that IMO though.
Is there an advantage to getting there early as possible for EE?
Yes! Being at the front of the crowd can save you 20-30 minutes (or more) just on your first headliner attraction. It can also allow you to get to two attractions before the park officially opens.
Thank you, I found this.![]()
I would take the boat between HS and EP to avoid the transfer. And it’s very relaxing and I love looking at the Boardwalk and the Epcot resorts. I think the Skyliner is very similar when it’s not park open or closing. 10-20 minutes is a good estimate. But waiting at the transfer station could impact this.
I always figure 30 - 40 mins for bus transportation from a resort to a park. That would include the waiting and ride. I would add 10 minutes for resorts with internal bus systems if you will be traveling through them and for MK resorts to AK and AKL to MK.
In the latest UG, there is a table in the discussion about the Skyliner. It says 19 minutes if there are no crowds (so walk-on at all points - and probably assuming no pausing for folks who take longer to load) and 35-44 for an average trip with normal crowds.
Based on my experience over Christmas, I plan to take the skyliner in the future unless the line would be stupid long. Even when I encountered a “long” line, it was far faster than I would have estimated! The skyliner was nice opportunity to get off our feet.

6:03pm skyliner queue at Epcot. Boarded at 6:09. Fast transfer. Arrived around 6:30 at HS. Total time: 27 minutes
Sometimes HS opens early.
Long long time ago - 2018 when Pixar Place opened - early entry at HS was 6:30 am.
We were at the CBR bus stop slightly before 5:30 am. On the bus before 6 and at HS tap styles at 6:20. Which were empty ![]()
Open but walk right in
We hustled up Hollywood Blvd and saw a CM in the distance leading a group toward Pixar. We turned right for Tower of Terror.
If you’re really early you can be the only ones in the elevator.
In the part of the world where I’m from we call these lift lines.
Lift lines wait times fall off a cliff from noon to one when everybody heads to the lodge to eat lunch. I would bet the same applies in Florida…
In Florida the Skyliner shuts down in storms. There are certain times of the year that the Skyliner is often closed. You can always poncho up and walk from HS to EP. For me, that walk is less than 25 minutes.
Is there a walking path or sidewalk? Walking is a good option for us.
Sidewalk all the way.
As you exit HS you will see a waterway on the left. There is a boat dock on one side. That boat stops at Swan/Dolphin, Yacht and Beach Club, Boardwalk , and then on to Epcot. The other side of the waterway there is a walkway that goes past the Boardwalk, and then bear right (at the bridge) to EP/Skyliner exit.
You will be staying on the right path where you see the split.
a short cut: do you see at the Boardwalk there are two pools that you pass in the pathway. The first is the DVC quiet pool with the community hall, the second is the main pool/slide. If you “cut through the main pool (exit through the tunnel where the fitness center is, you will come out on the pathway after skipping part of the path.
