OBNurseNH's Secret Star Wars Viewing Thread

Ah ok. I guess that’s fair enough.
I am fortunate to have a big TV system with surround sound etc, but I guess if you don’t have that then seeing this stuff on the big screen will be better.

I’m excited for the movie! It should be fun. The real trailer will be much better. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Well said and I’m totally on board with TRoS being one of the best movies and Rey one of my favorite characters. To be honest, as much as I like the originals, I find myself rewatching the sequels the most in recent years. The visuals and music are phenomenal.

I don’t think we’ll be seing a real trailer for another year or so, it’s just starting production and the likely release is spring 2026 :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

I bloomin hate fan trailers.
There should be a rule that they’re titled accordingly and less misleading
I totally fell for this one because it was on my newsfeed :see_no_evil:

Yea I get them constantly on my feed

I report them but it’s no use :joy:

I have fallen for one too many so whenever I see one I always check the Star Wars (or other official) YouTube channel to see if it is posted there. Even the real ones often have a watermark if you watch them on another channel - I like the pure experience.

The first trailer is out for Star Wars: The Acolyte. The series premieres on D+ June 4th. That’s only 11 weeks from now. It’s set at the end of the High Republic Era, so about 100 years before the start of Phantom Menace (the episode 1 movie). Looks good! It will be a whole new set of characters to learn.

This looks great!!!

Has anyone here read the High Republic books? If so, would you recommend them?

I have not. I like the book list on Simple Star Wars Book List (Timeline of Star Wars Novels) .This latest (in the timeline) books closest to The Acolyte are about 100 years before the series. Some of those are part of a 5-book story arc that looks very interesting. That group starts with The Light of the Jedi. I guess this 5-book series will be on my spring reading list!

I read The Light of the Jedi and it was very good. The High Republic Books have a large fan base and there is a lot of fun stuff going on there. But I find it to be too much for me personally to follow along with closely, especially since I’m more into the visuals of Star Wars than the narrative itself. I’m looking forward to the show, though!

I just watched today’s episode of The Bad Batch. That’s episode 8, just 7 left. It was good to spend so much time with Fennec Shand. With animation, voiceovers can really make a difference. I love listening to Ming-Na Wen, especially in the quiet times - and there were a lot of them. There was some action, but definitely things that point to significant troubles ahead - as might be expected in a series like this!

My littlest grand nephew was wearing a hand-me-down shirt from his big brother. It’s Ezra Bridger! Big bro was shocked. Back when he wore this shirt he hadn’t watched Rebels so didn’t know who was on the shirt. But since then he’s become quite a Rebels fan. He’s bummed he didn’t know what he had when he had it! :joy:

Love the shirt! I kinda want it!
