We leave for our trip tomorrow and our last day in the parks will be the 22nd, so we actually miss all of this craziness and will still be relying on an early morning wake up for a boarding group. That being said, what is the typical wait once your boarding group is called and you get in line? I think in my head I was assuming it was nominal since that’s what the boarding group is for, but based on the comments above, now I’m wondering??
I’m going Feb too! First two weeks. I’m chomping at the bit to plan. But I can’t. It is killing me! I have 5 HS park reservations on our 10-day tickets. Reason being:
Star Wars is the reason DH wants to go.
More chances to get the boarding group.
I figure it will be the most popular, so easier to switch PR’s from than to.
Plus, we have park hoppers.
Now, I don’t even know about #2. Urgh! I’m even worried Disney will get boring and USF will call to us.
When we went to Hagrid’s August 2020, they switched it from boarding groups to standby right before our trip. (yes, we really went to USF, but it was the Hagrid’s Trip) I could totally see that happening to us with ROTR.
I’m just happy for the leading reservations. I get to do an ADR on 11/20. Tratttoria. I am really looking forward to it (just making the reservation. I’m easy to please)
It occurred to me yesterday, in fact, that perhaps this is the root cause of why all of this change is so upsetting. Certainly not the only aspect, but definitely for this group could be a massive source of frustration in and of itself!
but the ‘v’ is a piece of cheese!? brilliant, no? (since we don’t know each other, please read that in the voice of another sarcastic graphic designer.)
The lack of being able to plan really anything and not knowing at all what you’ll be able to get done in a day is why I can’t really get too excited about any of my upcoming trips. Yes it will be nice to just be there and eat the foods and see the sights, but I am not a ‘fly by the seat of my pants’ kind of person. Not having a game plan is really just a mind fuck I don’t think I’ll ever get used to and also make WDW less enjoyable for me overall.
I’ve just let go of all the Disney planning for now, aside from securing the basics. It will probably take more planning to get the kids managed those days than it will to actually plan Disney, since it will be just DH and me.
Trip has two goals 1-I get a 40th birthday Do Over and 2 - DH gets to do Star Wars. Since we are only there for 3 nights/days I’m not unhappy about the paid options. The added cost is so minimal for 2 people over the 2-3 days we would use it.
The only thing really upcoming that I need to consider is ADRs, which I don’t want to think about because there are too many options for 3 nights.
No no. My trees go to communities, neighborhoods, and commercial properties so the tree leaves can do their job and absorb excess carbon dioxide and produce oxygen.
