99% sure this is it. We’re measuring to the elevator, the time to wait for the elevator, and then the walk through the lobby, around half the circular driveway, and then to the bus stop.
12 minutes is probably high - that’s like 5/8ths of a mile at a decent walking speed.
Unrelated: I checked this in production, which doesn’t yet have the dynamic filters, and sat there staring at the screen wondering why the map didn’t change when I selected the Distance to Transportation filter.
We should be rolling out the new data and filters today around lunchtime.
This is definitely a nice feature of being down near that stairwell!!! But, I would guess that most people don’t go that way…and if they do, it is because they already know about it, and wouldn’t need to TP to tell them.
We were on the third floor, and used the stairwell to get TO the buses…but when coming back, on tired legs, we didn’t really want to climb 2 flights of stairs, so we ended up going to the long route to use the elevators. Still, I primarily prefer having a room close to the elevators as highest priority at BWV.
We were 2nd floor one room away from the stairwell. Loved those stairs. I was amazed at one point that it took a total of 5 minutes to go to the store, get some ice cream and be back in our room. I lucked out that no one else was in the store. (And back when I could run up a couple of flights )
That stairwell is also a nice shortcut to the HS walkway.
And also, when I click on BLT, it seems to want to automatically scroll to the bottom of the screen (which I reported early on, but wasn’t really seeing it too often…but now seeing it again).
I did notice that now, if I click “View all WDW hotels”, it now starts me at the list of hotels. HOWEVER, it starts just BELOW the table headings. My assumption, as a result, was that it took me BACK from BLT to the last list I had clicked on (Deluxe Villas). But instead, it took me back to “Deluxe”…I didn’t immediately realize it had changed on me.
So, when I was on BLT, and clicked back, I saw this:
Saratoga Springs studios also list as one double-size sleeper. I checked it against Disney’s description before I requested the room. I love my twin sister, but I sharing a double pull-out bed with her for several days would test us both!
DVC room bed configurations should (almost always) match Disney’s website. There are instances where the data we got for the third set of beds (mostly in 2- or 3-BR villas) doesn’t exactly match what’s on Disney’s website, and we’ve kept that data. As a made-up example, the third bedding option might say “1 twin-size sleeper chair” in the data, while the website says “1 double sleeper chair”. If the data was in the spreadsheet, we kept it. Otherwise it should match the website.
I fixed an issue where having 2 upcoming trips to the same resort only allowed the first trip to make a room reservation.
I’m looking at Contemporary, Garden Wing, no filters selected, and there are a few corner rooms on floors 2 and 3 that appear blank/white and when I click on them I get taken back to the resort map. Not sure if these rooms exists or not, but hovering over them I do see numbers: 5251, 5351, 6207, 6223, 6307, 6323
A bit off topic, but any idea why they remove rooms, even multiple ones? Since they are all in similar far ends of the buildings, my guess would be for some sort of technical upgrades (hvac etc) to the building that require additional space.
Two rooms are combined to make a larger room or suite
I think there were ~18 rooms at Yacht Club that went through this in 2024
A room is not well-loved by guests and gets removed from circulation to avoid complaints
The space is needed by the hotel staff for operations
I don’t remember the resort, but it happened recently at a Deluxe, and the room nearest the club lounge was taken out to be used for lounge operations.
