I’ve been playing around with Pop Century. Anytime I go into a building and then click “Back to Pop Century” I get an error message “we’re sorry, but something went wrong” and if I click “Back to Building” then it takes me back to Pop Century

also looking at Pop and I’m a little confused on how the rooms are categorized? This might be official info from Disney, I don’t know, but it seems the “lake view” is somewhat random. (the only filter I chose, was Additional View)

For building 3, Shouldn’t the the whole line of rooms 13-24, and 25-36 be listed as “Lake View”?

And building 4 seems even more randomized.

Edit: With Building 4, looking at the photos, it does seem sensible that not that many is considered lake view if the trees are that obstructive. But then ones like 4137 probably should be reclassified as Lake View as it’s got a clear view.

looking at the room photos, they all have trees in front, and only the edge ones or 4th floor has clear views of the lake.

And some of those edges ones are still listed as “landscape view” , example: 3213

conversely, 3417 has just as much tree obstruction as 3313 has “sign” obstruction but 3417 is considered “Lake View” while 3313 is considered “landscape”

The text at the top of the filters explicitly say the filters are applied from top to bottom, and that higher filters will reset lower filters. Let me know if it would would be more intuitive to put that explanation on another part of the page.

Maybe a 1 or 2 pixel boarder around the callout? I completely missed that text.

Can we not visually indicate (color, font, icon) that a filter is at its default value

I’m more apt to think disabling/greying out filters that have no results or are invalid. Perhaps a hover over icon that explains the problem.

ETA: Okay. I found at least one example of this. But If you go to BLT room 7744, the arrow going right says “N/A”, even though there are plenty of rooms to the right. There are no rooms, however, to the left.

I think maybe the direction the arrow takes you is not really relative to the room position facing OUT? If that’s the case, perhaps it isn’t really a “bug”, but somewhat unintuitive, because the photos show us looking OUT, with the arrows on top of the image. So, I think we expect it to be relative to that view.

Yeah, those rooms should be to the “right” of 7744. It looks like that’s true on several floors.

I’ll get that cleaned up after this release.

When you are on a specific hotel page, there is the “View All WDW Hotels”. It would be nice if this took you back to the place on the page where you select the hotels, rather than the top of the page. Presumably the user got to the original hotel by way of that page, so probably no need to make them scroll down each and every time they are on a hotel already and want to see all WDW hotels again.

This should already be fixed on our test server. This is a note mainly for me.

Obviously they know which ones they are, but I don’t know if that’s a data point they maintain.

I still can’t get this to happen in Firefox

I poked around a bit more. I think perhaps it is related to the privacy blocker I have installed (EFF Privacy Blocker). I didn’t think about that before because I wasn’t sure why “ads” would cause issues for selecting a floor. But it hit me that perhaps there is something that is blocked that the site needs/uses. So I disabled the blocker for the site, and lo and behold, it works. (Of course, then I was hammered by ads as well, which I know wouldn’t be an issue on my direct account!)

The other thing I noticed yesterday is that the deluxe studios at Saratoga reference a double sofa bed (not the exact language) but not the queen bed. I know it’s differentiating the quality of the second sleeping surface, and assumed that is common knowledge, but handed my laptop to someone who read the listing and said “there’s only a sofa bed?” and walked over to the bookcase to find the TP book and look it up. Hence, I’m pointing it out.

Yeah, I need to add drop-downs for the bedding configurations. That’ll be in a future release. We have the information.

Pop also doesn’t offer a category called “lake view” on the Disney site - but it’s there as a drop down option in the new TP filters, which I love! I suspect that if TP gets this data from Disney it’s from a back office - not a public room category?

Yes, that’s it. And we also know from our own photos that some Standard Room Views actually view the lake.

We are a PoP or Art family. I have tried AoA different ways.
I chose Little Mermaid first, let it do its thing, then chose near bus stop.
It only brings up 1 room, 7655 on the second floor.
I added choice of lower floor, same room, 7655 second floor.
I reset the filters, chose in this order - Little Mermaid, near bus stop, lower floor.
Same room, 7655 second floor.
No other options.

I’ve confirmed that’s what the data says. Argh. I’ll ask about this.

In looking at nearby rooms, I found this view for Pop 4342. Yikes.

OK, as of Friday morning, here’s where I think we’re at with issues

Issues (Prioritized):

• (post 253) - Two maps overlaying each other
• (post 278) - Error when selecting 2BR
• (post 262) - Make “View All WDW Hotels” go back to the page where you select a hotel
• (post 308) - “Back to Building” link doesn’t work
• (post 320) - “Back to Pop Century” link sometimes produces an error. I’ve not been able to replicate this, and I’ll keep trying.
• (post 249) - Automatically scroll to the building when the page refreshes after changing the floor

I will try to fix this soon after the release:

• (post 259) - The left/right direction of some BLT rooms

These will be to-do items for a later release:

• (post 265) Identify rooms directly above smoking areas
• (post 307 and others) Add bedding info to a new drop-down
• (post 308) Make a free-form room reuqest right at the front of the page. This will probably be a priority
• (post 315) See if we can figure out a better way to say “Near Bus Stop” for these AOA rooms
