New DAS rules

Probably because they need to connect to video chat to apply. Sigh.

Okay but I’m gonna say it.

If one can wait in an hour plus line to register for DAS……I’m confused as to why they need DAS? I couldn’t wait in that line, nor would I. It’s a huge reason why I am waiting out some of this chaos before I reapply for DAS at Disneyland.

HECK I have paid to upgrade European internal flights of like an hour so we get fast track security because I’ve had some issues internationally with long queues (switchbacks are my downfall, it’s so annoying) and nearly ended up needing medical attention a couple times last year. Learned my lesson for sure.

Alternately it’s probably a way to weed people out. If you can wait in that line. Not saying it’s right, but could be some of disneys reasoning.

I will say there was a lot of unhappy guests trying to get return times and RTQ at Studios for ToT and Star Tours (that queue was HUGE) yesterday. (Tuesday, since it’s now 3am on Wednesday morning and I have INSOMNIA). CMs were saying no to return times and we saw people returning to queue and pushing through the crowd and it wasn’t pretty AT ALL. Will be interesting to see the disneyland rollout on that.

Lighting lane queues do seem lighter, but the parks also aren’t very busy this week. The air conditioning isn’t very good in shops and queues…even with lighting lane I got a little icky on Monday because there just wasn’t anywhere to really cool down. Some of the shops at DAK and MK were almost as warm as the outside, at least it felt like it!! Not good. The CMs seemed warm even inside buildings. :flushed:

Let the person who needs it sit somewhere out of the sun and the non-DAS person wait in line until they are near the front? Probably not easy to do, though.

Yeah that’s fair. I usually go to disneyland alone so I forget about something like that. :woman_facepalming:t3::woman_facepalming:t3:

Feel free to smack my insomnia self. LOL

Well, if the person is alone, they are out of luck then, I guess. Can they not do video calls ahead of time?

You can do a video call! I think people hope in person will be easier.

Really? That sounds like a time suck to me. I’d rather know ahead of time…

The FL AG is asking for complaints to be filed with them and the DOJ:

I just want to say I am sorry if you were ever made to feel this way.

Having read your thread and the threads of other people with medical needs, I am kind of suprised Disney hasn’t put in an accomodation of allowing a return to line anytime after the window opens for G+

Telling someone that their accomodation is to buy something is less than great. But telling them to buy something that doesn’t meet their needs is particularly unhelpful.

No apologies are needed @heathernoel. You have done nothing wrong. I do appreciate your supportive message, however.

This is the biggest issue with Genie+, you have an hour to return but it could be a weird time and could interfere with dining plans you made two months ago. You also need a masterclass to be able to get more than 2-3 lighting lanes with it. It’s wilddd

I was in front of Tron, coming out from a meltdown, and I contacted DAS and they still had the nerve to say no, even while my brain was racing haywire!

They said because I was in the lightning lane and went haywire, that DAS won’t help

And it seems like that their training is to poke holes in your story just enough for them to say “no”

Basically: anything you say can and will be used against you.
