On the other hand…I grew up LOVING “The Goonies”. I probably watched it 50+ times as a kid.
So, after I was married, I found an old VHS where I had recorded the movie from TV and was excited to show her a piece of my childhood. It was SUCH a good movie, I told her. She happily watched it with me.
But I was horrified. Watching it as an adult, it was such a horrible movie. Like, “Shark Boy and Lava Girl” bad. I embarrassed myself showing it to my wife. She was a good sport about it, though. So, my recommendation is if you LOVED a movie as a kid that you want to share with a loved one, you might want to preview it alone first to be sure you still agree with your childhood assessment first!
