This. I love Coco as well. I find it reaffirming rather than sad. The rest of my family look at me as if I’ve lost all my marbles.
I was not expecting my reaction as I’d heard reports of its being even depressing. Probably depends on the perspective of the viewer. And maybe it’s less about loss and more about celebrating family wherever they are.

It definitely makes me feel ALL the emotions! Happy, sad, hopeful, inspired, blessed, joyful, peaceful, wistful, nostalgic, sentimental, etc. Which I love. It’s not something I could watch every day, but it is probably my very favorite Pixar movie. (There, I said it.)

This is one of my favorite scenes - “Much Needed Advice.” I love the little guitar riff that Miguel plays starting at 0:50 to about 1:25. So much emotion in those notes!

I didn’t watch for a long time for similar reasons. But it was not nearly as intense for me as I feared it was going to be. Everyone is different and grief is a strange beast. So I recognize that you may experience it differently than I did. But it was not that sad for me

@Nicky_S , I asked on another thread but have you heard anything about how/why Devine is back? She was part of the entertainment cuts precovid. It just seems weird.
As far as I know she was on an irregular schedule pre-Covid. In that sometimes people reported seeing her but sometimes she just didn’t appear at all.
No idea why she’s back though, or whether it’s a permanent move.
No, she was an unannounced reduction when Burudika was let go? That was confirmed.
I did see some reports where people thought they saw her but she was removed from the schedule at the end of September 2019 and CMs reported she “went back to the jungle”.

The narrators I am most interested are on dates we wouldn’t be there (if I assume the same narrators line up to next year’s dates)…but the addition of Bart Miller overlaps with our dates for next year. Maybe he’ll be back then. We shall see!
