I’m so excited, I got the email yesterday but just opened it this morning… IDKY…. I’m excited b/c we get to registar early b/c we have a resort res. I’m going to add two extra names to my reservation so I can get 4 spots instead of just two

Ok shoot this will be the very first time that I would actually be able to go if I were eligible. :sob:

I know two spots won’t help you, b/c I think you have 3 kids? but IF I get my request, you can have my two extra spots :woman_shrugging:

Ah thanks for thinking of me. We are going in April.

Maybe I’ll just buy direct points :joy:

That’s a lot of money for a chance at some Moonlight Magic

And that’s exactly why I have no direct points!

Thanks, didn’t know this! I don’t get the emails (foreign address)

I just waitlisted us for Dec 15th rooms. DD(by then)15 may be at a volleyball tournament in Daytona. Her birthday is the first week of Dec, so if she does do this tournament I’d love to take her on the way home. Very little hope for the rooms to come through before the registration for obv reasons, but no harm right?

Question: early registration is this Thursday (those w/ resort res)… IF I can’t log in right away that day can I still register early? Will it be open the next day?

You can join the queue as long as it’s open but no, it won’t be open the next day. It’s only open until all the spots are filled. If you join late probably not great odds since then you’re at the back of the queue but there’s still a chance, particularly for AK in Dec. I saw late joiners get AK last October, fwiw.

If you really want it, try to have it open on several devices at once when the queue opens - your spot in the queue is randomly generated when it opens, so you increase your odds of getting a good spot. It also gives you a backup if your first one fails. It doesn’t matter if they’re all the same login and IP address.

I know about the queue etc. but I’ve only ever registered on the general/”all others” date. The “all others” date is for those w/o resort reservations, which says to me that there are spots open after everyone w/ a resort res got in…. That’s why I was thinking I could still get in if I can’t on the early date. Does that make sense?

Yes, but I’m pretty sure they release new spots for the second round. I’ve only done the early registration and I’ve never not seen them all close within a couple of hours at most.

Not everyone who tries at the early registration gets in. It usually fills up in under 2 hours.

I think they keep a few spots for the general registration. But a few being the operative word. Probably 5-10% would be my guess. And those are released on that day.

thank you, this is helpful. I will do my BEST to be logged in. Poseidon, I’m looked at you

there’s only been a few times, that I tried, that I didn’t get a spot on gen reg. day

For the MM on Labor Day this year, our one Liner with a DVC reservation could not get in on the early day. Three of us then tried on the general day, and all 3 got in easily.

The two things aren’t necessarily mutually exclusive.

Most of the slots are given out at the initial registration. My theory is that far fewer people try at the general registration , mostly those who didn’t get a slot earlier or didn’t qualify (hadn’t booked in time, or have added extra guests).

Either way, it’s always worth trying.
