Nice!

Key West airport has a bar literally next to baggage claim. The sign to the travel nerd’s left says, “Sorry, we’re open”.

I’m suddenly imagining those old commercials from the 80s about shaving cream, and how think and rich the shaving cream was. They would try various oddities like have a model lowered into a huge pile of shaving cream to see if it would support it, or have a car drive into it. It never did anything. But now I’m thinking…maybe the heavy duty stuff isn’t enough to support the weight of a model or stop a car, but the extra heavy duty stuff is!

That just triggered my gag reflex. I don’t want to know. I also don’t want to know who needs that much mayo of any strength. Or how you get all of it out the bottom without having mayo up to your armpits.

Someone somewhere is now triggered because you (not you specifically, @missoverexcited) didn’t support a local business for that pen.

Someone somewhere is upset that you’re supporting big company wasteful practices.

Someone somewhere is mortified that you’ve made fun of dying.

Fairly certain there are others but I’ve not had breakfast yet, so not firing on all cylinders.

It’s amazing how often death and mothers are mentioned. You don’t notice it until your mother dies and then all you hear are death and funerals and coffins and mothers. I don’t mean because you’re talking about these things. I mean just generally around.

Weird, isn’t it? It’s like you can now hear a new frequency that has been there the whole time but you have just tuned into it and now you can’t stop hearing it.

It’s now on the radar

As I was typing that I was actually thinking about when we pre-planned our own final arrangements.

I think that happens with a lot of things. Once it comes into focus for you it’s hard not to see it everywhere. Similar to buying a new car. You may notice there are suddenly a lot of cars ‘just like yours’ when really the frequency hasn’t changed you’re just hyper aware of it now.
