Maybe it means you’re meant for something else. That other race you mentioned, or something entirely different.
You are a very wise person and I value our friendship. Thank you ma’am
You are a wise voice of reason, and I am usually the sea of noise !
I am so sorry. I thought for sure anyone who had signed in at the original time had at least gotten something. It sold out a lot faster than I ever imagined. I sincerely hope you are able to get in with a charity
I’m sorry @NoBellePrizeWinner RunDisney can be so frustrating sometimes.
I wish they had some loyalty program to earn points and move some loyal runners up in the queue for better odds of registration (sort of like the Castaway Cay program for the cruise line).
I heard so many people in Reddit exclaim that it was their first trip to Disney (and first race overall) and they got in for Dopey. It made me even sadder for awesome folks like you, that have put in so much time and effort into raising money while doing Dopey training and still miss out.
(I know I shouldn’t encourage a classist divide, when Disney is already doing it with Deluxe after hours…just wish there was as some sort of reward for being returning runDisney runners)
Seems like something was screwy…I kept my place in the queue from 9:45 but logged in on my phone at 12:30 just in case and the countdown times were only 30 minutes apart. My tech knowledge is abysmal but that seems odd.
I had a similar experience. I had a browser open on two computers right when the initial queue opened at 7:41. When the queue finally opened at 12:30, they both were showing over an hour wait.
I kept seeing people trying to get in the queue and could not due to the website crashing. For some strange reason I opened an incognito web browser and got in the queue right when the website returned. That window was the one that got me in early enough to register before everything started selling out.
I hate that we all have to try and game the system to register. It makes no sense that those that were promptly in the system early seem to have been penalized by listening to the directions posted on the waiting room - - to stay in the queue.
I even heard of people clicking links to register just after 12:30 and bypassing the queue and heading straight to the registration page. This was so unfair for those still stuck in the waiting room queue.
All I have are curse words so I’ll just remain silent

Didn’t you run for them before @NoBellePrizeWinner ?
Yes, they are out of Dopey bibs already

How about straight up marathon, and maybe volunteer on the course for one of the other races?
I’m in a Dopey-or-nothing mindset here.
Eek. If it were me (and it’s not, I know) I would want to participate in SOMETHING rather than nothing – and then I really do think I would volunteer for one of the other events. Runners Without Limits talked about their experience and it sounded almost as fantastic as running.
I got “in line” on my laptop as soon as the register now button appeared on the website- a little before 9:45, I don’t remember the exact time. I was worried about the power to my laptop cutting out so almost simultaneously, I used my phone to push the same buttons and get in the same “line.” We’re talking a difference of seconds between when I was able to hit the button on the lappy vs the phone. When the queue was finally opened, both originally said over an hour wait. Then very quickly the lappy wait time went down to 45, then 30, then 5 minutes. I was registered for the half by 12:40, so it took less than ten minutes for my laptop to get in. This is why I assumed everyone else here that had been waiting got in as well. My phone still said “over an hour wait” so I closed it out when I was done, and I did think that was weird. I also know nothing about technology, but that does seem fishy.
That’s amazing! Glad it worked out!
My friend officially thinks I’m crazy (true but beside the point)! She sent me the link to register for a local 10 mile race this summer and before thanking her I registered. Turns out it had literally just opened…she’s pretty sure I registered first! She has no idea how annoying and nerveracking the WDW registration was!
Hi, everyone! Not sure if this is where I should be posting. I am a first time runDisney and first time runner! I am registered for the Half during the January Marathon weekend. I have lots of questions and would love some advice for general running stuff! Please let me know if I have joined the correct thread or if there is another one I should do! I read through a few threads, but nothing seemed particularly recent! It’s about 6 months from now! Wooooooo hoooooooo!
Good gracious, that was a lot of exclamation points. Here are a few more !!!
Hi there!! You’re in the right place
Fire away - we’re all here to help!
Ok, since this thread popped up again I guess I’ll go ahead and spill the beans. I’m doing Dopey again! A few weeks ago I found out that I was pulled from the waitlist for Give Kids the World to run with their team. So crazy, a week later we found out that we’ve been approved for our Make-A-Wish trip in the fall. So we’ll be staying at GKTW and then I get to run Dopey for them a month or two later! I’ll share more later in a separate thread.
