Local Motion: an Everlasting Gobstopper of a Trip Report

Now that is brainy!

I get my hams now from a butcher nearby to where I work. It’s quite good too and much more convenient especially at the holiday (and is next door to a liquor store so I can get those necessities for the holiday too). But I do love HOneyham!

Very convenient. Ours is next to a Chuck E. Cheese

Sitting on the roof for so long, you’re bound to get hungry.

We alternate between Hamdemonium and Hamageddon, depending on which holiday it is. The week before each of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter, the queue rivals FOP SB. I have to fight to get into the showroom some days because my doors is blocked.

I think it works out to be something like Ridiculous Dollars per pound. I can do one at home for 10 minutes of prep and spend 15% of the Honeybaked price.

And their sides totally suck.

I honestly don’t know how they stay in business. Beyond the holidays, if there are 3 people there for lunch, it’s a rush. And they are only open until 6 so there’s no dinner trade at all. All of that tells me the margins they make on the ham are nuts.

For this location, the line is for the preorders only. If you don’t order ahead, you don’t get.

Agree the sides are trash.

I tend to spend heavy to save on time and prep wherever I can if I’m hosting a holiday, but yes. One year the butcher from which I got my ham did not include the glaze and I whipped one up with what I had on hand in seconds flat.

I’ve never gotten any of their sides. I generally don’t prefer sides prepared by other than me for the holiday

We usually order the brunch meal, and the Cinnamin walnut coffee cake and bacon are fabulous. But it looks like they raised prices and cut back on the contents :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Yep, I started making sure DH was available on pickup day so he could drop me at the door then make a circle and pick me up  now it’s just the 3 of us it’s way too much ham!

Get a cat. They love ham.

I’ve had 3 cats in my life. Love them but not the destructive claws and the smell of the litter box. Maybe we will forget someday and get another

You need the right litter; Petco store brand is the BEST we’ve found so far.

Yes. The more you over salt them, the faster they disappear.

Or one of those automatic self cleaning boxes (love, love).

Or outside cats. Both of those work too

We actually just purchased online a hypoallergenic litter that works really well.
Jinxy cat has been licking her fur off and while there are not hotspots that are concerning, her vet thinks it’s a skin issue related to an allergy. We tried hypoallergenic food but they hated it and it seemed to make no difference. But when we switched to this litter suddenly she is licking less and her fur is growing back! Bonus that it manages odor well. It does track a little more than the one we were using (arm and hammer) but otherwise we are quite happy with it and more importantly so is Jinx

I meant the lightning rod thing specifically. Like if lightning + skittles equals truly tasting the rainbow. :joy:
