Leading reservations and ADR priorities

CRT showing availability for 1/1, but not 12/31 or 12/30.

Princesses probably taking time off to get ready for NYE :sunglasses:

Special event at the low, low price of $250 per person?

Hope they at least take Canadian dollars at par for that price!

You can call non-Disney owned restaurants for a reservation, but it won’t show in your MDE. I know this is the case for The Boathouse.

CRT just opened up on 12/30 (thankfully I decided to set up a reservation search just in case)!

Well it must be true if it’s in @mikejs78 's blog. He wouldn’t steer us wrong.

Wait, what? Blogmickey is our own mikejs78??

He adamantly denies it.

But we know. We know.

(no I don’t think it’s really him it’s just a thing I tease about)

You had me going there

I was like, Mickey could be a nickname for Michael… and it would explain why blogmickey is the best freakin’ blog in the Disneysphere. They have actual journalistic integrity with genuinely useful and accurate info, and a minimum of clickbait. I feel embarrassed at having called their accuracy into question in one of my earliest posts here, just for being not as data-watertight as TP. I know better now

Right? And most of the blog posts… are written by ā€œMikeā€ Go see

Hello. Thank you for this calculator. I have never booked a leading reservation before and have argued against the process, but I am ready to give in. We had a lot of trouble booking restaurants for our last trip. If I am going to try this for our 3/2023 trip, I need to book the leading reservation very soon. I am very behind on all things Disney this year because I have been dealing with family issues since July and have not kept up with the forum. I have downloaded your calculator. Has anything changed since this process was posted? Please let me know. Thanks so much!

Not as far as I know, but I haven’t been to Disney since June 2021. I am hopeful that those more knowledgeable and up-to-date than I am will sound an alert here if/when anything changes.

I used it in October for a December trip, and it worked fine.

Nothing has changed but a few of us planning upcoming trips (e.g. late January/early February trips) noticed that not all ADRs are being released at 60+10. For example, i was able to get all the in park reservations I wanted, but needed to set alerts for Kona Cafe and Topolino’s, which then randomly released on 60+3. Someone else had a similar issue with Ohana.

I’ve just been saying to people, don’t get frustrated or assume it’s already booked up, and use the alerts because they’re releasing things at random. Still found the leading reservation useful though!!

Thanks all!

@DWJoe and @Amuething
Did you need to book any park reservations for the period of your leading reservation in order to book dining for your actual dates, or did you simply hold the resort reservation until you were within your true 60-day window? (I see no reason to book park reservations.)

Don’t need park reservations yet!

Can someone please verify that I booked this right? :worried:
Actual check-in date (1st ADR needed): 3/4/2023
Leading Reservation check-in date: 2/22/2023
Book 1st ADR for 3/4/2023 on 12/24/2022 (Christmas Eve :weary:)
Day by day after that through actual check-out date of 3/10/2023

Thanks so much!
