Don’t start Desiree. ![]()
@ryan1 knows I’m just joking. He has valuable and sensible input. And we often agree. Just not about this ![]()

I fully respect your choice to be wrong. ![]()
Seriously, obviously most people love it. It is a popular ride. And I really do enjoy it. But definitely plenty of rides I enjoy more.
Honestly, I do too. But have only done it 3 times in the last 8 visits
. The last time I felt there is a diminished quality or something going on with the screens. With my glasses I struggle with 3D anyway. But, as a ride, I think it’s super cool and different than other WDW rides.
Gotta try it once right!? Also, the queue is top level.
For sure!
Never watched Avatar. Love Flight of Passage. It used to be my favourite ride …but that crown is currently with Cosmic Rewind (and I don’t see anything trumping that anytime soon)
I love FoP and consider it a must do! I usually ride with ILL cause RD at AK is so darn early! But standby is usually doable at some point in the afternoon or last ride of the day.
I got mild to moderate motion sickness the first time I rode it and thought I’d have to write it off. But since then I have always ridden it with a Dramamine regimen (1 regular the night before, 1/2 less drowsy before riding) and have been completely fine. It helps to sit in the middle (you can ask for this) but after I figured out that it didn’t make me sick with Dramamine, I haven’t worried about location.
Without Dramamine, I would compare it to MFSR. Worse than Soarin’ (which doesn’t make me sick at all) but not as bad as Star Tours and way better than Mission Space.

If you wait until the late afternoon a few hours before closing / the wait isn’t that bad. (Depending on when your trip is.)
A few weeks ago we got in line with a wait time of 70 minutes, but it was actually 40.
That’s a lot! Lol.
Yeah, we didn’t rope drop and I didn’t want to pay. I wasn’t willing to wait 70, but when we got there the line wasn’t outside, so I knew it wasn’t a 70 minute wait.
I don’t love FOP. We have RD it on the last two trips but only bc the first trip was the first time we had been there since it opened and the next time it was DD’s grad trip and she wanted to do it.
For me, the ride is just a little too long. I’m not extremely sensitive to motion sickness but I definitely note it on FOP and the fake breathing gets to be very unpleasant to me.
I never like to tell people to skip it. But of all the ILLs available it’s the one it would never be tempted to pay for.
I dont even remember this I don’t think. But it doesn’t sound comfortable. Maybe I was always so focused on DH. TBH, I don’t recall any audio.
The banshee breathing between your legs? You don’t remember that?
This 100%
If your are even slightly prone to simulator sickness (where the gravitation changes you feel don’t match up to what your eyes are seeing) this ride can ruin your whole day!
I’m prone to motion sickness, but decided I really wanted to try FOP. I found a Youtube video with tips on riding it if you get sick and the advice was great. I did a little queasy, but overall it was a fantastic ride. It’s a must for me now. AK is an all-day park for us and I’m SO NOT a morning person, so we get in line right before park close; that way we don’t have to RD or use up an hour of park time waiting in line for it.
Nope, lol. But maybe I never realized it was breathing?
Well, guess I gotta book a trip to ride FoP again! (done
)
I want to give some flight of passage love here. There are moments on this ride that make me feel completely exhilirated and alive. Like my heart is full of joy. My sister and her family recently went to Disney for the first time in years. She called me after she rode it to say “OMG that was amazing”
One challenge with this ride is that Disney has let the 3D glasses get scratched up. So sometimes you can get a pair that aren’t good, which leaves you less immersed. You have younger kids, I would definitely check all the glasses out and keep the best for yourself
I say that because the ride makes me feel like a child again, and your children are, well, children ![]()
But on FOP you are actually moving too. The entire ride system is on an a type of elevator that moves up and down and tips foward and back. The distance is as much as four feet.
Does it? Interesting. I didn’t realize that.
Doesn’t change my opinion of the ride, but good to know! ![]()
