I promise, I'm actually going to DLR this time!

I’m just feeling stressed at home & work and taking it out on DLR!

We are moving everyone at work from our campus to a new site. We’ve known for 6+ months, but no one has done anything. Now, that we are six weeks away people are all coming at me at once. I know it will only get worse over the next 2 - 3 weeks. We move into our new space on May 1st. I go on vacation May 2nd!

I can report that I can now see the hours on the first couple of dates I’m there.

DCA will be open until 10pm with a 10:15 WoC. It, also, means I’ll get to see Cars Land at night, ride Incredicoaster after dark and do GotG three times that day - if desired…

DL will be open until 10pm on Wednesday. It was predicted at 8pm, so this is better even if it’s not midnight.
Those extra hours makes my days much more laid back and I won’t need Park Hopper.

At least this means I’ll have time to do Web Slingers! I’m trying to stay positive!

I did just find out that the Matterhorn will be unavailable due to refurbishment!! I was so looking forward to it! It’s one of my top 3 “must do” DLR rides… :sob:

TP now thinks Soarin’ is still on refurb on my dates. However, it’s scheduled to be back a few days before. I can’t, currently, put it in my plan. I have to add a “break” at Smokejumpers using the wait data I had

Since I can now see all the hours & such I have decided that I really don’t need park hopper. However, when I go to make the change I only get a pop-up about Park Reservations begin gone.

Do I need to call or should I just keep everything as is in order to keep all my reservations? Maybe I’ll actually park hop anyway?

I am not sure why you are getting that popup as there are no days that are currently unavailable for people with park tickets. Do you have a magic key?

Nope! It’s a hotel package

Interesting. I have never bought a package at DLR so no idea if it is set up differently.

With the Matterhorn being closed this changes my nighttime priorities. I’ve heard that Alice in Wonderland at night is a really good experience. Without Matterhorn getting to that area is now “out of the way”

Is a night ride on Alice in Wonderland “worth” walking out of the way late at night?

  • Yes! It’s really pretty & fun
  • No! It’s nothing special

I say if you’re in the area, sure. I wouldn’t make a special trip just for that.

If you do go over there, the Teacups, walking around the submarines (maybe riding them) and the Autopia are fun at night.

But then I think you said Teacups are a no-go for you. And I’m not sure if just walking around that area will do it for you.

I’m fine with tea cups! I like them.

However, I was going to Matterhorn at the end of the night from Adventureland. I may just stay in that area.

I’m waiting for reviews of “Season of the Force” night time offerings. There are no fireworks while I’m there, so I don’t see “Fire of the Rising Moons” happening. However, there’s supposed to be a new projection show called “Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga”.

I really can’t do any more planning until TP catches up with the actual hours and refurbishments.

(Doesn’t mean that I don’t like trying!)

I like Alice a lot, but ride it whenever it works, not necessarily any particular time.

Are you not there on Friday night?

I’m going to Knott’s that night. It’s a Grad Night date at DL

I see. You need more DLR days. Like the weekend.

Can I steal your entire itinerary if I end up going to California? I’d be at DLR the week after you, and overlap a bit with USH fan fest.

Of course!! I go RD to close though!

I do love Alice at night’s because of the view you get coming out onto the outdoor track and the view of the Matterhorn and Tea Cups with the hanging lit-up lanterns. That said, I also wouldn’t specifically make a trip to it for this nor would I defer 1 ride to this moment, because yes, Alice is prone to go down often so you want to ride it whenever the soonest opportunity presents itself.

I do love the idea of watching the submarine lagoon and Autopia at night too. I don’t love Autopia/Tomorrowland Speedway in general (and I never ride the submarines because they are claustrophobic), but Autopia at night has a totally different vibe and I do love it. The retro lighting and screen they’ve added alone make it 10000% more enjoyable a sight than it is in the daytime.

Maybe, but TeaCups is the best at night! I would definitely make time to walk over to that area.

Agree. And will also say that Autopia in general is a much more interesting ride than Tomorrowland speedway.

Is BTMRR open when you’re there?

Yes! I’m not a fan of it at WDW, but have a couple rides planned, including at night
