I promise, I'm actually going to DLR this time!

I would definitely put it in the “If there’s time category” and catch a show if you have time while you’re enjoying the Animation Building. But I would definitely prioritize both the Sorcerer’s Workshop and making sure to explore & play in there for a few minutes and enjoying the loop of animated films in the Animation Building lobby, and then if it it works out you have some time to also catch the next Turtle Talk with Crush going on, then do it. But can totally skip if not. It’s fun, especially if you’ve never done it, but it’s not earth-shatteringly good.

I’ll know my actual park hours in 7 - 8 days! That’s going to be a big help!! If either park is open until 11pm on Wednesday then I’ll go to DCA late to repeat GotG and RSR. That would mean I could skip repeating them the day before. I’d have more time on Tuesday for things like Web Slingers / Monsters / Turtle Talk / Sorcerer’s Workshop

You should save Turtle Talk for WDW someday. I mean, you’ve GOT to do GotG at EP again, so you might as well do TT while you’re there. :man_shrugging:

I like TT with Crush so much more at DLR. I consider it skipable at EP, but must do in DLR.

it can’t just be the seats I like… ?

I don’t really like Turtle Talk or Laugh Floor. Improv gives me anxiety. Vicarious embarrassment and worry that people will say or do something awkward. Every time I’ve gone, I’ve enjoyed it after the fact. But not before or during. The primary emotion was relief it was over and nothing horrible happened.

I am a little nervous at Laugh Floor, too. But that’s more random.

DH and Tab were on the screen once when she was a baby.
Crush asked Katriel in either 2016 or 2019 what her favorite food was and she said Mac and Cheese.

What time does RotR close? Does it close an hour early or anything? If DL is open later than predicted then I was thinking about hopping in that queue right before close, if possible.

I know I’m anxious about the park hours! I’ve been using the posted hours on Star Wars Nite dates in April to compare. TP is predicting the same hours for Star Wars Nites for the week I’m there in May. However, the event ends that week. I’m stalking the calendar to see how the rest of the week will play out! When this happens at other times it seems like DL does stay open past 8pm, but only until 10pm. This is still better than 8pm though!

I’m still trying to justify park hopper tickets. Even in my plans where DL stays open until 12am I have to cut out at least 2 hours to hop to DCA to repeat GotG & RSR. I’m often cutting 5 - 6 DL attractions to justify this.

I’m still going to wait until next Thursday before making my final decision about it though.

I’ve been obsessively going over my plans for hours each day at my desk! Yesterday I accidently rearranged everything about an hour before going home. No matter how many times I tried to recover it, I couldn’t get it back. (It’s fine though. When I remade it today I rearranged everything again. I gained about 40 minutes!)

I think RotR closes at 10pm but it might be 9pm. It is a good choice during parades and fireworks. But they do close early, and there is always the possibility that if it breaks down during that timeframe that they won’t bother bringing it back online. But that area of the park is usually quieter after dark. Love it.

I was watching Fresh Baked when he casually mentioned it closing before the rest of the park. I checked the wait times calendar for RotR from TP. TP has it going until the end of the night routinely though!

I don’t want to spend the last hour of the night in queue, but don’t mind being in queue after the park has closed!

Looks like it closes at 10pm and I think this is what I normally recall seeing.

This is for tonight when the park closes at midnight??

That may be what Fresh Baked meant by “closing early”. It closes at 10pm on nights DL is open to 12am

I’ll have to find a date when the park closes at 10pm to find out how that affects RotR

Yes this is information for today. RotR usually closes at 10pm and DL usually closes at midnight. I’m not sure what happens if DL closes earlier than midnight.

It’s just a weird week to arrive. My first day is the last Star Wars Nite. TP thinks the rest of the week will follow the same “SW Nite” calendar even though there are no more events the rest of the week.

Realistically, I’m pretty happy with what I have planned using the predicted 8pm closing. So if it’s open any longer then all of that is truly a bonus! I just like to go RD - Close!

I have never seen it stay open until park close. I wouldn’t trust being able to jump in line at park close.

I will definitely be open past 8:00 if there isn’t a special event. I’ve never seen DL close that early unless something is going on.

In another “March Madness” style poll…

Would you rather…

  • Watch “Avengers Assemble” show
  • Ride Web Slingers

I am definitely watching the Spider-Man Stunt show w/ robot. I have planned watching Avengers as well. However, I’m still trying to fit in Web Slingers. I love entertainment / shows. However, I watched Avengers Assemble on YouTube. It looks “just ok”

The show is fun but short so I wouldn’t necessarily plan anything around it. If you are already getting a snack at Pym’s and it’s on, that’s been how we’ve mostly watched it. But Webslingers will be a more fulfilling use of time. Definitely though make sure you watch along the balcony and roof of that building anytime you pass it. You never know what Avengers or MCU characters will be scoping out the terrain. And watch for them on the ground too, walking around all over the land.

Same! And I always recommend, if you want to be assured a ride, go before 9pm. There have been more than 2 evenings when we decided to head there at 9:15-9:20 noticing a very short posted wait and on our way there notice the ride go down. And in our experience, it doesn’t come back up (at least not on the app anyway as we’ve usually kept an eye out on the app until the scheduled 10pm close, just in case it did show up). And even the one time we walked past it just before 10pm and had been down, it was already all shuttered up for the night. So I wouldn’t plan for this for your first time, but definitely a good time to possibly set in a repeat ride.

It is a lovely time to be in GE though because it is so peaceful and Millenium Falcon shouldn’t be long at all and FWs viewing in that area is great, so even if you don’t get a time on Rise, it’s not a bad time to explore it.

For a first time ride on RotR I would look for the dip to 40-55 min that happens shortly after the rope drop rush dies. On days with 8am openings, it tends to be 30-45 min after rope drop. So we like to start at Big Thunder or Indy and then move through a couple of rides out of Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Tiana’s (well when it was Splash since we haven’t ridden Tiana’s yet), Winnie the Pooh and then from there move to Rise.

Coincidentally, that’s how I have it in my TP!

Arrive at 10:55am for 11am show then eat at Pym’s.

However, I could use that time to ride Web Slingers then eat. I should be able to get on quick with Single Rider or LLMP.

I really hope so! I don’t need to meet any of them, but really want to see them!

I do already have it planned earlier in the day. I was trying to repeat it on the same day. I have been on RotR in WDW 6 - 8 times, so I’m OK only doing it only once a day.

I’ve been to SW:GW three times now. It’s always only been at night!

I’m planning time on a different day to be there for lunch. It’s pretty at night, but there’s no performers or characters. I’m hoping that going at 11am - 1pm will give me time to eat, do RotR and actually go into shops and walk around SW:GE. I’d like to see stormtroopers, Chewbacca or someone while there.

I’ve decided to go ahead and pay for LLSP each day for RotR. It saves about 30+ minutes each ride. My time is so limited that I want to skip all the queues I can!

Good use of funds, IMO. :+1:
