I promise, I'm actually going to DLR this time!

That’s what I understood. Definitely still a bargain! I paid more than that on my weekend trip for 3 people.

I’m looking at having to make tough choices for my single DCA day. If you had to skip one of these two attractions which would you skip?

  • Web Slingers - A Spider-Man Adventure
  • Monsters Inc - Mike & Sulley to the Rescue

You shouldn’t have to miss any rides if you are at DCA all day – it’s pretty easy to check them all off as a single rider. But I’d skip Monsters’ Inc. if you had to. It’s basically a Fantasyland dark ride. A good one – possibly better than all the others, though not as nostalgic or classic. But still just a dark ride.

I’m trying to do GotG and RSR 3 times each!. That eats up a block of time!

Plus, I’m looking forward to the Spider-Man show and eating at Pym’s more than Web Slingers - to be honest. I’m just kinda “over” shooting at screen rides. I noticed there is one at Knott’s too. It’s a TSMM clone. I’m probably skipping that one when I visit.

Is the “Avengers Assemble” show fun?

Most likely, I can do everything I want to do that single day. I’m skipping all the Boardwalk rides, TSMM and Grizzly Rapids.

(probably would make more sense if this was Marvel, but that’s out of my wheelhouse. :joy:)

I really love this ride. I assume you have your reasons though.

I don’t want to get wet!

I am going to walk through that area on the way to Little Mermaid / Goofy Sky School

Fair! LOL

I usually switch into flip flops for the ride. A poncho would help too. Everything else in a waterproof bag (usually I bring a plastic grocery bag to stuff my backpack and shoes into)

I like a fun rapids ride…some times! As you’ve said though, you have to be prepared! IME - Rapid rides will get you soaked. I often do them before a midday break so I change clothes / shoes.

I am planning on doing Jurassic World at USH multiple times though. At JPRA in UOR you get damp, it’s never as bad as a rapids ride!!

I usually don’t get soaked on JPRA at USH either. Just don’t sit in the front! Big difference.

I never want to go on a rapids ride again after US.

I was the weird one and said skip Webslingers. I didn’t find it all that inspired. And my elbows were like, “What did we do to you to deserve this?”

I am a big fan of Monsters, Inc. and MU, though.

Skip it. It is really bad and surprising has an extremely long wait.

Voting skip Webslingers for 2 main reasons. One, with it being a shooter ride and potentially aggravating for you, no need to prioritize doing it. My arms always seem to be more sore after Webslingers than TSMM (but we also tend to do WS last/near the end of the night whereas TSMM I always hit first or not at all). I do love the queue for it at night & I love all the easter eggs on all the posters throughout the queue. I spot new bits and bobs of MCU storytelling I hadn’t caught every time I pay attention to the posters (but you do have to really be watching so much of it to catch those bits, so if you don’t watch all the MCU, then it’s all cool to know, but relatively meaningless). Same for the pre-show room, SO many fun things to look at. If you were to prioritize it, it would be for that room.

Second reason to skip Webslingers, is when you come back to DLR, it will almost certainly still be a thing, but Monsters Inc’s days are numbered. Nothing announced, but with expansion plans and new things coming to DCA, and the area where Monsters Inc is being a very much dead-end vastly under-utilized chunk of real estate, I’m positive it will be shut down. It’s adorable and nostalgic too (but definitely a Fantasyland level dark ride, that is to say, very good, but zero thrills). If you did chose to skip it, I’m very certain (and am very much rooting for) many of the ride the and some of the queue elements of it to make it over to the DHS Monsters Inc area/queue/ride.

You make a good case!

Honestly Webslingers is not a favorite ride for me. But because it’s new and trendy I always figure people will enjoy it and need to give it a try. But honestly if I had limited time I would skip both.

It is fun if you know where to target your scoring to rack up a ton of points. My older kids are especially good at knowing and remember which variety of the bots to get when. And so it’s fun to ride with them and get a great team score.

And then we are a huge Marvel family so we generally enjoy all the easter eggs and any chance to experience the universe. But I think as an overall concept of a ride, it’s not my favorite, favorite. I would much rather go ride Soarin’ or even the smaller rides in Carsland or Little Mermaid over it, and obviously would ride Guardians, Incredicoaster or Racers over it. And most days I would pick TSMM over it too, but I do think that’s such a fun one and for me, easily repeatable (well not right in a row, but over time, again and again it’s still as fun as it was the first time).

This is something I’m debating too!

I want to ride it ironically to see the “shell” of Superstar Limo! I actually don’t like Monster’s Inc too much. It’s “just OK” to me.

I’m not saying, “this may be a scouting trip to replace HHN with DD this year”, but it’s on my list. If there’s no Annual Pass option for Epic this year I can’t justify the cost to go.

I’m thinking Las Vegas Universal Horror Unleashed and/or an Oogie Boogie Bash / Knott’s Scary Farm as my main choices.

She really wants to do MMRR and RotR for the first time…

As I make my plans I do feel like I already have my face in my phone a lot. My plans seem like, “Get LLMP, go to a ride, go to next ride with LLMP use, Get LLMP and repeat”

Should I make time to see Turtle Talk with Crush? I like Monster’s Inc Laugh Floor and other shows like this. It’s on my list of things I may have to skip though…

Oh that is ironic! Monsters is just ok to me too. Even though it’s a quality dark ride, it’s the one we ride the very least. And usually it’s just something to do with the kids who can’t/won’t ride Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout, but even then, we’re much more inclined to pick spending time in the Animation Building or pop in to see Philharmagic than wait in line for Monsters.

I think you’ll find the LLMP times midday and evening stretch out a little bit more than the TP plans estimate and that’s the perfect time to do exploring in the walkway attractions, watching for wandering characters, enjoying ambiance and snacks and any smaller entertainment that’s available. It really is a lot more laid back, even with LLMP.
