This. My daughter canāt wait to go on some kind of a trip, anywhere. I try explaining to her that thereās no escaping the pandemic at this time. Even if we can manage to go somewhere and avoid quarantine, theyāre having Covid everywhere, things are closed, things are restricted and it wouldnāt be fun. Has anyone had a different experience?
In fact, since we in Israel are far ahead of every country in the population getting vaccinated, we might get out of this thing sooner than anywhere else. Internal travel might make more sense at first.

The places Iāve heard of that donāt have a lot of restrictions would require me jumping through testing hoops when I got home. I do have friends who have traveled and had fun, but not via car.

Weāre told that those who get their two vaccine doses will have a āgreen passportā that will exempt us from all Covid testing. No one that I know about has gotten one yet, except for the prime minister.

Should that transpire here, my traveling days will be behind me. We are planning to move this year and that possibility is playing into our considerations. I hope you can travel soon. Iād love to visit Israel, but it seems wholly impossible now. Viva 1019!

We just went to Hawaii and had a wonderful vacation, so yes it is possible right now. I also am headed to WDW in 4 days, and that will be the 3rd trip there since Covid started. All the trips have been fun, even with Covid precautions like masks and social distancing.

Tell me more about this! My parents are going to Hawaii for their honeymoon next month and they are a little anxious about all the COVID restrictions. Apparently they paid in advance for COVID tests with quick results that cost more than their plane tickets!

We got our Covid tests for free at Walgreens, it was easy and the results were back in 3.5 hours. Hawaii has very specific labs that they will accept, we are in WA so it was really easy.
The restrictions didnāt bother us. Pretty much everything is open on Oahu, just with restricted numbers. It was wonderful and I am so glad we went.

NYS has free sites for asymptomatic testing. Other places either only to symptomatic testing or charge for asymptomatic.
Getting DS20ās asymptomatic test this past week was an exercise in massive frustration. He was negative.
Also - they handed him the swab and directed him on the swipes. They told him to make sure he didnāt go too deeply, either.

We stayed at Ko Olina Beach Villas, next door to Aulani. Gorgeous 3 bedroom oceanview condo for the nightly price of a small room with 2 beds at Aulani.
We felt safe on our flights- Alaska Air is very strict about masks staying on, with very brief times off to eat/drink. Mask compliance was excellent. Also many/most on the flight over had to have a negative Covid test within 3 days in order to avoid quarantine so that gave an extra feeling of protection. The amount of Covid cases on all the Hawaiian islands each week is far, far less than the county I live in. Very little Covid in Hawaii, I felt safer there than anywhere here on the mainland. They have kept numbers very low thanks to strict mask rules, social distancing, and making it difficult to visit by requiring negative tests and QR codes to be scanned at hotels, resorts, rental cars, and many activities. It was wonderful to be somewhere that allowed for eating in restaurants and visitIng museums and such (not open in WA, we have very strict rules). It is the perfect place for vacation right now.

Of all the places we have lived, SC was the most welcoming. We loved it there, though only ended up staying 6 months before being transferred to Tampa. It used to be very inexpensive as well, not sure if it still is. We lived in Irmo, which is a suburb of Columbia. There is beautiful Lake Murray there. I worked at Palmetto Health Baptist in Columbia, which is now called Prisma Health Baptist. My good friend from college lives in Greer and they love it there. What part of SC are you thinking?

The greater Greenville regions - and that would include Greer. Would be happy from the GA border over toward Rock Hill - that northern swath.
We have friends who moved to Anderson last summer and friends moving to Ninety-six soon. Other friends keep bidding on (and losing homes) in Simpsonville and still other friends looking around Rock Hill.
Time will tell!!

I read an article about a retirement that would be my dream. This woman sold her house and put most of her stuff into storage. Then she travelled the world doing 6-month apartment rentals. So, sheād be in Rome for 6 months, then sheād ski for 6 months. Because of the rentals which were at locals prices it wasnāt that much more than staying in one place.
