As long as the adults are respectful, I don’t mind them correcting my children. They will take it more seriously coming from another adult! I can only say “stop hitting her!” so many times! ![]()
Haha
DD10 was aggravating DS7 one day and I said to her “Why are you bothering him?” Her response … “Dad, you’re an older sibling too so you should get it.” Yes, I do …. but I’m a Dad now so … stop bothering him.
That’s top-notch psychowarfare right there.
Buy a hot tub for home and you won’t feel the need to use the one at your hotel. Much more relaxing and there’s no pee in it. Toddlers love our hot tub and throwing every toy into it. ![]()
Somehow, I think you’re on top of that. You seem very mindful of what your children are doing.
Oh, thankfully I never dealt with that
But 2 littles is different than 4 ![]()
But I get what your saying. And I will use my please, thank you and honey, baby, sweethearts when talking to other people’s kids (not in a creepy way though, lol).
I like kids mostly so unless they are splashing or kicking me, they aren’t bothering me much. Generally if I say something it’s for their own safety.
When there were kids that were not with adults, I asked if they were of age and then point out the rules.
Were we in the same hot tub? Just returned 10/21 from Grand Floridian and you read my mind! We finally got a civilized hot tub experience at 10pm.
Was a mix at POFQ. There were times where it was just adults & so relaxing, but unfortunately, a few times where a mom brought her two toddlers, not more than four years old, who were running around screaming, jumping in and out of the hot tub kicking and splashing the adults that were just trying to relax, while she was either turning her back or walking away from the kids while on the phone. Oh, and before she walked away, she took the lifevests off the toddlers!! Not sure if she thought we would be babysitting while she chatted somewhere else, but I quickly got out of the hot tub, dried off and went back to my room because I had 0 patience for that. Another time it was 9 o’clock at night five adults in the hot tub, just relaxing and in comes another mom with three young kids again running around, jumping in and out, splashing, kicking, and somebody actually said something to her about this behavior. The French quarter spa is the smallest so there’s no way of avoiding this. another reason why these need to be like 15 or 16 years old and up as these are not kiddie pools.
Omg this is a nightmare scenario. Some people …
Exactly! It took everything I had not to approach this woman and ask her how stupid she could possibly be to turn her back and walk away on the phone from four-year-olds!
maybe she has spares…. ![]()
We’re at SS, at the Congress Park pool because the Paddock pool is closed. Both spas have families camping out in them with their kids— most around 5—we got into the less full one and got the look because we took a space their kids had just moved from. We were there for about 5 min when another member of the group came over with a baby — 6 months tops — and not wearing a swim diaper. She climbed right in and started bobbing the baby’s feet, then Grandma or Auntie took the baby and dipped the little tyke in up to the chest.
— we left that hot tub, got into the pool, and 30 min later both families are still holding court in the hot tub.
We threw our laundry in here, or we’d go find a different pool. We’ll look for a different one tomorrow.

Health hazard and unsafe for the baby!
People are so ignorant
That is a situation where either I would bring out my Massachusetts and tell these parents off or I would get out, Find a cast member then find a manager explain the situation and let them know that it is not safe, it is not hygienic, especially for an infant, not wearing a diaper and rubber pants, just a thought of bear exposed skin, in that water, I wouldn’t go back in until the spa is completely drained, sanitized and then refilled, but besides that the water is way too damn hot for little kids to be in these hot tubs.
This is why hot tubs need to be restricted for older kids to adults, not infants or toddlers as they don’t belong there, it’s not a kiddie pool, it’s inappropriate and it is completely unsafe.
I sent an email to guest services in regards to what happened at the POFQ hot tub. I begged them to update their signs restricting these spas/hot tubs for adults and have a cast member at that spa during the entire time it’s open to be able to regulate what’s happening. It is unsafe, it is accidents waiting to happen, it is waiting for kids to completely overheat in that water to where it endangers their health.
I am spending just as much money as these ignorant and inconsiderate parents who have no regard for anyone else’s enjoyment, but their own.
I couldn’t agree with you more! The entitlement of some of these parents is mind blowing. ![]()
