Home resort 11 months waitlist

I am confused. I thought you can create a wait-list for your home resort at 11 months out. Is this not the case?

When I try to waitlist a standard view room at BWV, it tells me that I either need to try from my home resort or at 7 months. But BWV is one of my two home resorts.

Are they the same membership number (i.e. same use year) or seperate?

No. The SSR contract is a June use year, and then BWV contract is a December use year. But I am trying to waitlist at BWV.

Do you have points available on your BWV contract for the trip? And did you select the BWV contract for booking?

Aldo of course are you sure you’re at 11 months?

Yes to all three.

I booked a garden view room at BWV already for the same dates. But I want to waitlist the resort/standard view in hopes to save those points for a future trip.

When are you getting this message?

As in, where in the process:

  1. You’ve searched for an available room for those dates.
  2. Room isn’t available starting on the date you want.
  3. Option to waitlist.

Are you not being offered the option to waitlist?

I think you have to select your contracts before you start. It sounds to me like it’s only selected SSR.

I get to step three. But when I select the option to waitlist, the message comes up that says I need to either book at a home resort or at 7 months.

It is odd. Perhaps it is a glitch on the website that will resolve itself. I may call and try over the phone if it isn’t resolved before then.

I would go right back to the start and make sure you only select the BWV contract. Then go through it again.

Otherwise call. :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:

:scream:

Surely that can’t be! :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

What time is it and why are you up? I really hope you’re at least on the East Coast!

I had the same issue creating a BW pool/garden view waitlist at 11 months in December. I had to log out/log in to finally get it to work.

I don’t sleep well, and my RLS has been particularly bad, so I am up throughout the night. That was 3 something am. I am east coast.

I did try again later, and now it worked!!! I was able to waitlist. I didn’t log out, but I did go back to the beginning. (Although I had both logged out and gone back to the beginning several times before that before I posted here about it.)

In any case, I will just say that the website was deciding to play mean, but now it is good!

Glad you got it to work.

Boo about the RLS and sleep disruption.

Geez what are you trying to get a BWV? I was fine in April at 11 months. Didn’t think May was that hard!

April has more availability, but the first two weeks of May are some of the lowest point weeks of the year, so I think that is why there is higher demand. Normally at BWV we would book 1 bedroom, which is easier to get…but due to circumstances of having to use up some points before they expire, we decided to tack on two nights to our May trip (mostly staying at SSR), but in a studio. But we want to minimize how many points we use because we want to bank the rest for our January 2028 trip!!!

Staying in a garden/pool view studio room at BWV is a “waste” of about 5 points. (Why is the garden/pool view the same point cost as a Boardwalk view? To me, the garden/pool view rooms are LESS desirable than standard view rooms! I personally think the point cost on the garden/pool view rooms should be the LOWEST point cost, and then standard view, and then Boardwalk view.

But I digress.

I honestly agree with this. But my parents had one night in a pool view room in April and it was a view of mostly trees and the quiet pool. So it was fine! We were in a standard studio and right across the hall from each other.

Hopefully someone is trying to walk your room for Memorial Day or something and you can pick it up next week.

This is my hope as well.

I don’t necessarily disagree with you, but I will say that I absolutely loved my room with a view of Luna Park Pool! Normally I would think that would be awful, but it was not loud, it was fun to people watch, and it was a beautiful view. The carousel, the Dolphin, the sunsets. :cook: :kiss_mark:

Back in 2024, we had a couple nights in a room overlooking Luna Park pool. It was fine. No complaints. But also not worth the extra point cost, IMO.
