I am confused. I thought you can create a wait-list for your home resort at 11 months out. Is this not the case?
When I try to waitlist a standard view room at BWV, it tells me that I either need to try from my home resort or at 7 months. But BWV is one of my two home resorts.
I booked a garden view room at BWV already for the same dates. But I want to waitlist the resort/standard view in hopes to save those points for a future trip.
I don’t sleep well, and my RLS has been particularly bad, so I am up throughout the night. That was 3 something am. I am east coast.
I did try again later, and now it worked!!! I was able to waitlist. I didn’t log out, but I did go back to the beginning. (Although I had both logged out and gone back to the beginning several times before that before I posted here about it.)
In any case, I will just say that the website was deciding to play mean, but now it is good!
April has more availability, but the first two weeks of May are some of the lowest point weeks of the year, so I think that is why there is higher demand. Normally at BWV we would book 1 bedroom, which is easier to get…but due to circumstances of having to use up some points before they expire, we decided to tack on two nights to our May trip (mostly staying at SSR), but in a studio. But we want to minimize how many points we use because we want to bank the rest for our January 2028 trip!!!
Staying in a garden/pool view studio room at BWV is a “waste” of about 5 points. (Why is the garden/pool view the same point cost as a Boardwalk view? To me, the garden/pool view rooms are LESS desirable than standard view rooms! I personally think the point cost on the garden/pool view rooms should be the LOWEST point cost, and then standard view, and then Boardwalk view.
I honestly agree with this. But my parents had one night in a pool view room in April and it was a view of mostly trees and the quiet pool. So it was fine! We were in a standard studio and right across the hall from each other.
Hopefully someone is trying to walk your room for Memorial Day or something and you can pick it up next week.
I don’t necessarily disagree with you, but I will say that I absolutely loved my room with a view of Luna Park Pool! Normally I would think that would be awful, but it was not loud, it was fun to people watch, and it was a beautiful view. The carousel, the Dolphin, the sunsets.
