Agreed, but then I also wouldn’t pay extra to have a Boardwalk view cause I would worry about the noise over there. I would rather have garden / pool than a view of a parking lot though, which so the gamble you take with standard.

It’s all relative. As a person who doesn’t own at BWV but who likes to stay there sometimes, I usually go for the garden view rooms because there seem to be more of them–and because they are less coveted, it’s fairly easy to pick them up through waitlists. And they are always fewer points than my home resorts–GFV and Poly!

That’s very true. 
Of course, the reason there are garden view rooms available is because nobody wants to spend their points on those rooms. Right now, for the dates I am booking, no Boardwalk view studios and not Resort view studios, but plenty of garden view!

There is also a quantity thing happening. There are 29 Boardwalk studios, 52 standard view (which is higher than I expected) and 165 Garden/Pool view. And a higher percentage of the Garden Pool view are dedicated and not going to lock offs.

I don’t agree with this since the Village Green rooms are garden/pool rooms and the oversized balconies make them some of the most desirable rooms.

But there is no way anyone can guarantee they will get those rooms. The one time we had Garden View, we requested there, but no such luck. I am sure lots of people request them.

When I tend to only be waitlisting 1-3 nights at non-peak times but I have always had old Poly, BWV and GFV resort come through - I think because of sheer number of rooms.

Yes, but there are many preferred rooms in all categories. I have a standard room/area I love (4079 a non connecting, centrally located with a weird dipped floor studio) but standard rooms at BWV have always been compared to the value rooms at AKL. A great value but you should never expect to be able to get them.
I think of BW/Pool-Garden as comparable to my CCV walk in shower/tub choice. They are all about the same points you just book what you prefer when it is available. Standard rooms at BWV are limited and a great surprise when available.
