They did the event last year and it was WHOLLY UNDER ATTENDED!
I missed HHN last year due to an injury. This year we weren’t sure if we were going as DD23 is young & can’t get away from her job. She was in college the last few years and leaving for 3 - 5 days wasn’t an issue.
However, this event is PERFECT for us!
I’ve bought us plane tickets and booked one night at Aventura!
We arrive on that day at 1pm. We’ll check in / get lunch / nap until about 6pm. Then go to the event all night!
Our return flight is at Noon the next day!
We still have our flight credits from last year. (I used some of mine to go to DLR / USH last month, but still had plenty & flight miles)
With my flight miles and Unviersal Rewards I’m trying to keep this trip to around $500 - $600.
I wanted to do a “no hotel” 24 hours trip where we leave HHN at 2am and go to the airport.
DW insisted that we get a hotel room. I’ve got a room at Aventura for $130.
Without that hotel room I could’ve done the whole trip for under $500
(If I was going solo, it would be on the cost to park at the airport and Uber rides!)
I may not always like the Universal card, but it really does get points way faster than the Disney Rewards Visa.
I had the Disney Visa for almost 5 years. I got another $2,000 - $2,200 in credits.
I’ve had this card for a year and already have over $1000 in points.
I’m actually spending less these days as I used pay for DD23 college & such on that card…
I haven’t bought the event tickets yet… I am using my Unversal Visa Rewards and want another month or so of biling to come in.
81 days!!
It’s so odd doing Halloween in August!!
PLUS, WE GET TO WEAR COSTUMES!!!
I can’t decide what to wear!!!
