HHN 32 News, Updates & Planning

Are there any blog posts about the CB set up?

Future daughter in law’s response to my text, “I want that”. I would have been disappointed in any other reply.

THIS IS A RUMORED MAP AND TEMPORARY PLACEHOLDER! I uploaded it for a mid August article and I would have adjusted it based on input, such as last year.

The Official Discover Universal Podcast has put out their first round of HHN house discussions and the first audio story. I found listening to these last year is what “filled in the blanks” to what the story of the houses were.

I have to admit i am unfamiliar with most of the mazes this year. But three nights is going to be better than our one night gully washer last year! Looking forward to monsters in Paris!

OF COURSE all of the announcements dropped on a day I was super busy at work. That said, I am so pumped for this lineup!! I’ve already listened to two of the Discover Universal podcasts and it has me even more hyped! My initial reaction order of hype:

Houses:

  1. The Last of Us
  2. Dueling Dragons
  3. Stranger Things
  4. Universal Monsters
  5. Yeti Campground
  6. Dr. Oddfellow
  7. Darkest Deal
  8. Blood Moon
  9. Chucky
  10. Exorcist (I think this one will be gross lol)

Scare Zones:

  1. Vamp 69
  2. Jungle of Doom
  3. Shipyard
  4. Dark Zodiac
  5. Dr. Oddfellow

As I see and hear more I imagine my hype order will change… and it will be fun to reevaluate after I attend! I’m also super happy for the return of Nightmare Fuel! I honestly love the show so much… but am definitely hoping for an updated storyline.

Question: does express pass work for the Nightmare Fuel show?

I might try and save the podcast stories for my flight down.

There was no express at Nightmare Fuel last year. You waited in a “holding pen” until a few minutes before the show. Then they’ll open a gate on each side allowing people to enter the Fear Factor stage. It can be a bit chaotic and had “choke points” that I hated with people pushing. I gave Universal feedback about it last year. I’m hoping its better thus year.

We saw this one two years ago in Hollywood and there it was a repeat from previous year. So I agree with your ordering for the most part (but Yeti is higher for me) because repeats are for the birds lol.

Even for RIP tour we were held in the bullpen. Just up front. And we had to get there early. It was a great show though but they claimed it was going away forever cuz they were gonna do something else with that stage so for that I am disappointed that whatever real attraction was supposed to go in there appears to be scratched.

I had also heard that the former Fear Factor stage area was possibly going to be demolished. I understand why they closed the show. It wasn’t popular.

I think all the plans for that area are on hold indefinitely…

Everything is full steam Epic Universe for a while. VCON & the new Kids Zone are going to be the last new things those parks get for a long time - IMHO

After listening to the Discover Universal Podcast there is “supposed” to be a chronological order to walk the scare zones to learn the origins of Dr. Oddfellow

This is the podcast that goes in-depth about it. They really want to tie all the scare zones together this year.

What about Zelda?

It’s only a rumor…

Okay, that’s what I thought! Last year I remember getting there super early so we would be near the front but I definitely got a bit claustrophobic as the crowds accumulated and pushed in. Well darn, I was hoping I just didn’t notice an express pass area! Haha!

I’m actually loving their dedication to a storyline this year! I think it makes it more immersive! Going to give this a listen today as well as the bonus episode that deep dives Oddfellow’s origins. I don’t know much about him.

I have little frame of reference to most of the offerings this year. Nonetheless, lets go!

For anyone interested, it does appear the “main entrance” scaffolding for HHN has moved up to right as you enter the parks - near the Studios Store gift shop. I had suspected this would happen to prevent Minionland from being covered this year.

For reference - The Today Café would be right behind you on your right…

More props and fog stands are being placed throughout the park! Only 31 more days!

I can taste the fog already.
