This should be easy enough.
I should go back and look at my previous stays to see if I took photos/time stamps of when we ate.
I need to get more info on driving vs. buses. I prefer to drive to everything except MK, vs. bus.
My August trip and my November trip have different vibes (I don’t love that word, but it fits better than any others I can think of).
August:
Marie and Tab will do whatever I suggest. Marie is a Disney-phile and eats very little when she is hot, anyway. Tab is there to take cute photos; I can appease her with Starbucks. Both are not fun when they are hangry, but both would eat a granola bar to hold them over. (Tab did three survival-level camp trips this year. On the last one, she literally carried a container of peanut butter and a spoon.)
November:
DH is very flexible IRL and tries to always look for the positive. That said, a 10-day vacation is not a long weekend, and it would be nice to find a way to make the trip as pleasant as possible for all of us. For DH, that means eating before starting the RD routine day after day.
A quick peek says there is enough going on in the food court to work.
This has shown me that my best bet is the All-Stars and it gives me permission to stop looking elsewhere for our family trip.
The beverage coolers are perfectly adequate at keeping your dairy products from spoiling, unless you are going to be there a week or more or something like that. Whole milk generally lasts longer than reduced fat milk (because it doesn’t have to go through the process of removing the fat…you may notice that the sell by date on whole milk will be further out than, say, the skim milk if you compare them on the same day at the store.) The biggest issue is that you can’t store any frozen food items is all, really.
Also, don’t forget that you can get “hot” breakfast items at any of the Starbucks locations in the parks. Also, some food stands. For example, in Animal Kingdom, Isle of Java has a nice breakfast sandwich. MK has a chicken breakfast sandwich at Westward Ho in Frontierland, etc.
I am an early riser and in March I enjoyed walking around the All Stars and then stopping in the food court at 6:30 am. We moved to CCV and it was annoying to wait until 7am to get into the QS.
YES - once upon a time my large family went through 6-8 gallons a week. I was strictly a skim milk mom then, bc $$$. Now, we tend to just drink 1-2 gallons a week, and we buy whole. It does last longer. Do you just get new ice daily?
Finding food at the parks isn’t my concern as much as taking the time to eat in the first 1-2 hours after RD. As infrequent visitors (John hasn’t been since 2016, girls haven’t been since 2019) we will want to emphasize attractions in the mornings.
If needed, yes. I would fill the ice bucket sometimes the night before and put it in the beverage cooler so that it wouldn’t melt as quickly so that I wouldn’t have to go out and get it in the morning.
