Help with mornings?

Intermittent fasting. “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day!” is Big Breakfast propaganda.

Totally

Brunch is really the way to go. Late morning ressies are just about my favorite time to dine!

That’s what we do. In the parks while the temps and crowds are somewhat decent. Then stop for a late breakfast or early lunch.

Another nice benefit of getting an early lunch (at a place that doesn’t also serve breakfast) is that you can usually get in and out a lot faster. Table service lunches barely take longer than a quick service meal would when we get one of the first reservations of the day. But even if you want to take your time, it’s just a more enjoyable experience when the restaurant isn’t already packed full of people.

My kids would enjoy the novelty of cereal a day or so @LZurg. Pair with yogurt, etc.
I thought many of the resorts only had coolers, though, and not fridges. Perhaps that is old news.

I am all for budgeting! Our family trips have always been in rental houses, where we eat the same as we do at home. I am only not considering on property now because there are only 4 going and we want EE. In rental house years, we would not only eat breakfast in the house, but we’d pack our lunches; the stroller meant the small coolers were easy to deal with. Those days are gone.

I should price that out - to see if the daily cost of four breakfasts would cover the cost of the family suite vs the traditional room. Thanks for pointing me to that thought (even though that wasn’t your point!).
ETA - I am realizing that wouldn’t help. :stuck_out_tongue:

Do you do the walk and eat? Do you stop and sit? DH would not care to walk and eat - there is no way he’d be able to eat enough that way. But I wouldn’t want to stop riding rides that early in the morning.

DH is up daily by 4AM and makes himself a full hot meal around 6:15AM or so. He’s barely willing to even go to WDW. If he finds out the plan is to starve him in the morning, I will never get this trip off the ground!

I’m so glad this came up! I need to make sure I stay at a resort that has early breakfasts. First - I like to commando tour for as long as possible before we slow down. Maybe this is a feature of not being able to visit as often as a lot of liners. Second - we pretty much only eat hot meals for breakfast/lunch/dinner. It’s only been in the last 2 years or so that I don’t make a full hot breakfast and lunch for myself and all the kids. Their schedules now (many young adults) have them coming and going and they now all make their own breakfasts and most make their own lunches, and I stay out of the way.

My motion sensitive family members NEED something in their bellies before they do any kind of motion-ing rides. It slows us down in the mornings especially at WDW where we are less familiar, but it’s also better that we get them fed and go on to happily ride than have them sick afterwards and having to potentially stop a lot longer.

That makes a lot of sense!

I make an Amazon Fresh order for breakfast items to eat while in line and then get something more substantial in the park if we want it. We order things like bananas, uncrustables, apples, grapes, string cheese, cereal and milk, muffins, etc. I bring zip lock bags and we toss in what we want and eat in line for the bus or while riding the skyliner.

My friend had no trouble with bus this am.
This is weird.

Was uber breaking rules?

Maybe they saw Minnie Vans, and thought they were Uber. That’s the only ones usually that can go to the MK bus area.

I thought the same thing re: Minnie Vans and she said, “I for sure saw Ubers dropping by the buses.” She travels all over for work and uses Ubers all the time, so I did not press.
Minnie Vans are still the polka dots, right?

Yes.

Okay. She would definitely recognize them.

For our last trip, we brought cups of instant oatmeal that had additional protein.

There are no ubers that go to the same place as the buses at MK
Was she noticing them near the bus stop at POFQ?
Was she seeing MiniVans and thinking they were ubers?

The only other thing I can imagine is that maybe there was some issue with drop off at TTC and today they had them going to the bus depot.

I’m there in a couple of days and will check it out. But there’s a whole area at TTC for rideshare and they are real strict about not letting them into the bus depot area on a normal basis. It would be a big security risk.

I do want to ask her more about it, but I will wait til she is home.

To be pedantic, Minnie Vans are Lyft, not Uber.

I knew this, but OP had used the word Uber, so I was answering using her terms. We, too, use Lyft not Uber. :slightly_smiling_face:

Early breakfast will be a crowded madhouse - be prepared. Rope drop the food court.
Also, check the menus to see if what’s being offered works as a hot breakfast for your crew.

As for coolers, I looked into this recently. A fridge apparently has one temp. A cooler has a temp that can be regulated between 40 (or lower) and 60/65 (wine). We’ve not had problems with our sausages, cheeses and milk/half & half in the coolers.

We stop and get QS breakfast. They do have sandwiches that you can grab and go but I tend to only want to eat snacks while walking. I want to sit somewhere and eat my meal. QS breakfast is normally very quick. We budget 25-30 mins tops.

Yes. They do not let personal cars there.

This is very interesting. Wonder if something changed! This has definitely not been the case in the past.

We haven’t either. But some peoples tummies are sensitive to it. We aren’t, lol. We put milk in our coffee in the mornings so I also get a carton when we get there.
